Role Purpose - Own the end-to-end movement of materials and information—from approved requirements and procurement to factory production and final site delivery.
The Supply Chain
Executive will ensure that every project receives the right material, in the right quantity, at the right cost and at the right time. The role requires close coordination with vendors, transporters, factory teams, project managers, site teams and finance, supported by accurate records and consistent follow-up.
Key Responsibilities Manage vendors, quotations, rate comparisons, negotiations, purchase orders, credit terms and delivery commitments. Source boards, laminates, edge bands, hardware, fittings, packaging materials and other project-specific requirements. Validate purchase requirements against approved BOMs, drawings, available inventory and project priorities before placing orders.
Identify alternate vendors and maintain competitive pricing, quality and delivery reliability. Plan first-mile logistics from vendors to the factory, including pickups, vehicle coordination, challans and proof of delivery. Track ordered, received, accepted, rejected, consumed and pending quantities for every project.
Reconcile purchase orders, vendor invoices, delivery challans and factory receipts before payment processing. Coordinate with the factory on material readiness, production schedules, daily output, bottlenecks, quality checks, packing and dispatch dates. Plan factory-to-site dispatches and ensure complete, correctly labelled material reaches each site as committed.
Maintain project-wise purchase costs, logistics expenses, site expenses, vendor ledgers and supporting documents. Publish daily status and exception reports covering shortages, delayed deliveries, blocked production, dispatch risks and required actions.
Escalate potential delays before they affect production or site commitments.
Success Measures
Materials are available before scheduled production and dispatch dates. Purchases remain within approved rates and project budgets. Vendor pricing, credit terms and delivery performance improve consistently.
Shortages, rejections, emergency purchases and avoidable logistics costs remain low. Production delays caused by missing materials are minimised. Project-wise costs, invoices, challans and site expenses are recorded and reconciled accurately.
Factory and site teams receive timely, complete and accurate status updates. Risks are identified and escalated before deadlines are missed.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in commerce, supply chain, operations, engineering or a related discipline. Two to four years of experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, logistics or MIS.
Strong
Excel and MIS skills, with the ability to maintain trackers, reconciliations and management reports. Sound commercial judgement with the ability to compare quotations, negotiate rates and control costs. High ownership, attention to detail and disciplined follow-up. Strong coordination and communication skills across vendors, transporters, factory teams, project managers and finance. Willingness to work extensively in the field across vendor, factory and project-site locations in Indore.
Experience in modular furniture, interiors, building materials or manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory for a strong operations candidate.
