Solar-LIT India is seeking a proactive and technically capable Purchase Engineer to support our growing renewable-energy operations in India.

This strategic role focuses on building a strong local supplier ecosystem, supporting local inventory planning, and enabling Solar-LIT’s long-term localisation and production initiatives in India.

The selected candidate will work closely with the India business leadership to identify, evaluate, qualify, negotiate with, and develop local vendors for solar-project requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Develop, identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable local suppliers and manufacturers across India.
- Build a vendor base for Solar-LIT’s local inventory, project execution, and future local-production requirements.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including RFQs, technical-commercial comparisons, negotiations, purchase orders, delivery follow-up, quality coordination, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Work closely with engineering, project, logistics, quality, finance, and site teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Support sourcing of mechanical, electrical, structural, fabrication, robotic-system, and solar-project-related components.
- Conduct supplier and factory visits, capability assessments, quality reviews, and commercial negotiations.
- Monitor procurement costs, delivery schedules, material quality, and supplier compliance.
- Develop cost-effective local sourcing alternatives to reduce lead times, improve project responsiveness, and strengthen Solar-LIT’s India supply chain.
- Support inventory planning and supplier-development activities for upcoming renewable-energy projects.
- Maintain procurement records,



vendor databases, price benchmarks, and periodic sourcing reports.
- Travel across India for supplier audits, factory visits, project coordination, and vendor-development activities.

Candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of procurement/purchase experience in the renewable-energy sector.
- Strong experience in vendor development, sourcing, commercial negotiation, purchase-order management, and supply-chain coordination.
- Experience in solar EPC, PV projects, solar trackers, solar structures, electrical systems, or related renewable-energy equipment will be preferred.
- Experience with robotic cleaning systems for PV solar projects will be a significant advantage and will receive immediate preference.
- Familiarity with local manufacturing, fabrication, steel structures, mechanical assemblies, electrical components, and project-based procurement is desirable.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation ability, analytical skills, and supplier-management capability.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and coordinate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel pan-India regularly.
