Role & responsibilities The Manager Projects will handhold every new customer account, the role covers project planning, warehouse infrastructure setup, agreement of operating processes with the customer and the operations team, system readiness with the Information Technology team, statutory compliance, coordination of all functions, a smooth start of operations, and a formal handover to the operations team.

Account Activation and Project Planning

Own each recent account from handover by the business team and act as the single point of contact for the customer until operations are stable.

Study the customer requirement in detail, covering volumes, product profile, temperature zones, service levels, delivery windows and geography.

Warehouse and Infrastructure Setup

Work with operations to finalise the site, and plan the layout covering storage design, racking, docks, staging areas, frozen, chilled and ambient zones, and material flow.

Coordinate procurement, installation and commissioning of racking, material handling equipment, refrigeration, temperature monitoring, weighing systems, safety equipment and office setup.

Operating Processes and System Readiness

Design the end-to-end process with the customer and operations, covering inward, put away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, delivery and returns.

Work with Information Technology to set up the Warehouse Management System, scanning devices, connectivity and any integration with customer systems.





Statutory and Regulatory Compliance

Obtain the licence under the Food Safety and Standards Act from the Food Safety for each new site, and ensure storage, handling and transport conditions meet its requirements.

Obtain all other applicable approvals, such as the trade licence, fire safety no objection certificate, Shops and Establishments registration, pollution control consent and legal metrology approval for weighing equipment.

Travel Requirement -

- This role involves regular travel as required for business needs, including client visits, site visits, and other work-related activities. Candidates should be comfortable with domestic travel .

Preferred candidate profile

Education

Graduate in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field. A Master of Business Administration in Operations or Supply Chain, or a certification in Project Management, Lean or Six Sigma will be an added advantage.

Experience

8 - 12 years of total experience, of which four to five years must be in project management or new site activation.

Experience of setting up warehouses or distribution centres from an empty site to full operation, preferably in food logistics, temperature-controlled supply chain, Third Party Logistics or retail distribution.

Skills and Competencies

Working knowledge of warehouse design, material handling equipment and temperature-controlled distribution.
