Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Production Head to lead the manufacturing operations of our Electric Wires & Cables Plant at Bhiwadi. The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end production management, production planning, process optimization, cost reduction, quality improvement, productivity enhancement, manpower management, scrap control, and implementation of best manufacturing practices.
The candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of wire and cable manufacturing processes, relevant BIS/IS standards, raw materials, machinery, quality systems, and plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts and dispatch requirements.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and resources.
- Monitor production targets and achieve planned output with maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate with Sales, SCM, Purchase, Quality, and Stores departments for seamless operations.
- Ensure on-time completion of production schedules.
2. Manufacturing Operations
- Oversee complete manufacturing processes including:
- Copper Wire Drawing
- Bunching/Stranding
- Insulation Extrusion
- Sheathing Extrusion
- Coiling & Packaging
- Testing & Dispatch Clearance
- Improve machine utilization and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Reduce machine downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance coordination.
3. Cost Reduction & Productivity Improvement
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Optimize raw material consumption and reduce wastage.
- Improve productivity through process improvements and automation.
- Analyze production costs and recommend corrective actions.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects.
4. Scrap & Rework Management
- Establish systems for effective scrap monitoring and control.
- Reduce copper, PVC, XLPE, and packaging material wastages.
- Analyze root causes of rejections and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain scrap generation within approved norms.
- Develop recovery and recycling strategies.
5. Quality Control & Process Assurance
- Ensure adherence to BIS, IS, and customer quality requirements.
- Work closely with Quality Department to reduce customer complaints.
- Monitor process parameters and product quality at every stage.
- Implement CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).
- Drive Right First Time (RFT) manufacturing culture.
6. Technical & Process Development
- Possess strong knowledge of:
- IS 694
- IS 1554 Part-1
- IS 7098 Part-1
- Solar Cable Standards
- LAN & Communication Cable Manufacturing
- Develop process parameters for new products.
- Lead product trials and process validations.
7. Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor raw material consumption and stock levels.
- Ensure optimum inventory without affecting production.
- Coordinate with Purchase Department for timely procurement.
- Control WIP inventory and improve inventory turnover.
8. Team Leadership & Manpower Management
- Lead and mentor production teams across all shifts.
- Develop supervisors and line managers.
- Conduct skill enhancement and technical training programs.
- Ensure discipline, productivity, and workforce motivation.
9. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and safety regulations.
- Promote a secure working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and corrective actions.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
10. MIS & Reporting
- Prepare and present:
- Daily Production Reports
- Efficiency Reports
- Rejection Analysis Reports
- Scrap Reports
- Cost Reduction Reports
- Monthly Plant Performance Reports
- Monitor and report KPIs regularly.

- 1215 years of experience in Wire & Cable Manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior production leadership role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing economics and cost control.
- Proven experience in handling large production teams.
- Ability to drive productivity and profitability improvements.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Hands-on approach to shop-floor management.
Preferred Industry Background Candidates having experience in reputed wire and cable manufacturing companies such as Polycab India, Havells India, KEI Industries, Finolex Cables, RR Kabel, or similar organizations will be preferred.
