Position OverviewThe Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a secure, nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The teacher will plan and deliver age appropriate learning experiences, support the overall development of children and maintain effective communication with parents and the school management. Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and LearningPlan and conduct engaging classroom activities based on the preschool curriculum Deliver age appropriate lessons through play based and activity based learning Develop children’s language, communication, cognitive, social, emotional and motor skills Use stories, rhymes, music, art, games and hands on activities to make learning enjoyable Encourage curiosity, creativity, participation and independent thinking Adapt teaching methods according to individual learning needs Classroom ManagementMaintain a safe, clean and positive classroom environment Establish age appropriate classroom routines and discipline Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime and other school activities Encourage positive behaviour, sharing, cooperation and respect Child DevelopmentObserve and document children’s learning and developmental progress Identify individual strengths and areas requiring additional support Provide appropriate encouragement and support to children Maintain developmental and academic records as required by the school Parent CommunicationMaintain professional and positive communication with parents Share information regarding children’s progress,
participation and classroom behaviour Attend parent teacher meetings and other school meetings Address parent concerns professionally in coordination with the Centre Head School ResponsibilitiesParticipate in school events, celebrations and special activities Support exhibitions, annual functions and other academic programmes Prepare classroom displays and learning materials Maintain teaching resources and classroom materials Attend teacher training and professional development programmes Follow school policies, curriculum guidelines and academic procedures Required QualificationsGraduate or equivalent qualification Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Nursery Teacher Training or equivalent qualification preferred Previous experience in preschool or early years education will be an advantage Good communication skills in English Basic computer skills preferred Required SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills Patience and empathy towards young children Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching Strong classroom management skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Good presentation and organisational skills Passion for early childhood education Skilled and positive attitude Key Performance AreasQuality of classroom teaching Child engagement and participation Child safety and wellbeing Implementation of curriculum Documentation of child development Classroom management Parent communication Participation in school activities Professional conduct and teamwork Preferred Candidate ProfileWe are looking for a caring, energetic and creative educator who enjoys working with young children and is committed to providing a joyful, meaningful and stimulating preschool learning experience.
