Role Description This full-time Plastic Trim Design Engineer role is an on-site position based in Pune City. The engineer will be responsible for designing plastic trim components for automotive interiors and exteriors, ensuring manufacturability, durability, and compliance with customer specifications and industry standards. Daily activities include developing 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, and product design) to integrate trim parts into overall vehicle architecture, and participating in design reviews.

The role involves resolving design issues, supporting prototype builds, coordinating with suppliers and tooling teams,



and updating documentation throughout the development lifecycle. The engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement by proposing design optimizations and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Design Engineering and Product Design, with specific experience in plastic trim for automotive applications.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with an understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural performance.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and detailing of plastic components.
- Candidates should possess basic Electrical Engineering awareness to support integration of trims with electrical harnesses, lighting, and in-vehicle electronics.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in automotive interior/exterior design, mould design, or tooling coordination is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and OEM standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to work in office in Pune City with customers and internal stakeholders.
