Hazargo is looking for an experienced and safety-focused Plant Manager to lead the complete operations of its hazardous-waste recycling, pre-processing, TSDF and incineration facility.
The candidate will be responsible for safe plant operations, regulatory compliance, production planning, manpower management, equipment reliability, cost control and achievement of operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations involving hazardous-waste receipt, sampling, segregation, storage, pre-processing, recycling, incineration, ETP and secured-landfill activities.
- Ensure waste is accepted, classified, stored, processed and disposed of only through approved procedures and authorised treatment routes.
- Plan daily, weekly and monthly processing schedules based on waste inventory, plant capacity and operational priorities.
- Ensure safe and reliable operation of incinerators, shredders, blenders, reactors, pollution-control systems, ETP/STP, utilities and material-handling equipment.
- Coordinate with the laboratory team for waste characterisation, compatibility testing, calorific-value assessment and approval of incinerator feed mixtures.
- Monitor critical operating parameters, plant output, fuel consumption, electricity usage, downtime and processing costs.
- Ensure compliance with consent conditions, authorisations and applicable CPCB, SPCB, environmental, factory and fire-safety requirements.
- Maintain statutory records relating to waste receipt, storage, processing, disposal, manifests, emissions, effluent and landfill operations.
- Lead plant inspections, regulatory visits, customer audits and internal EHS and operational audits.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimise equipment breakdowns and plant downtime.
- Coordinate breakdown maintenance with mechanical, electrical,
instrumentation and external service teams.
- Ensure pollution-control equipment, online monitoring systems and safety systems remain functional and compliant.
- Supervise department heads, shift in-charges, engineers, chemists, operators, technicians, helpers and contractors.
- Plan manpower deployment, shift schedules, training and performance reviews.
- Enforce the use of PPE, work permits, lockout/tagout procedures, confined-space protocols and safe chemical-handling practices.
- Lead emergency response for fires, chemical spills, incompatible-waste reactions, equipment failures and other plant incidents.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, process deviations and non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain secure inventory levels of fuel, chemicals, reagents, consumables, spare parts and PPE.
- Control operational expenses and identify opportunities to improve productivity, recovery, energy efficiency and cost per tonne processed.
- Submit daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports covering waste inventory, processing output, downtime, consumption, compliance and safety performance.
- Coordinate with customers, transporters, vendors, laboratories, consultants and regulatory authorities as required.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, housekeeping and continuous improvement across the facility.
Candidate Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical,
Industrial or a related engineering discipline.
- 8–12 years of relevant plant experience, including at least 3 years in a plant-management or senior operations role.
- Experience in hazardous-waste management, TSDF, incineration, recycling, chemical processing, ETP or a related industry is strongly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of hazardous-waste handling, chemical compatibility, incinerator operations, pollution-control systems and environmental monitoring.
- Working knowledge of CPCB/SPCB requirements, hazardous-waste regulations, consent conditions and statutory documentation.
- Strong understanding of EHS systems, permit-to-work procedures, emergency response and accident investigation.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and operate a continuous or shift-based plant.
- Strong leadership, planning, troubleshooting, cost-control and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in preparing operational MIS, analysing plant data and using Microsoft Excel.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills in Hindi and English.

A hands-on plant leader who can take complete ownership of hazardous-waste operations, maintain strict safety and compliance standards and consistently improve plant efficiency, reliability and cost performance.
Pay: ₹20,106.18 - ₹40,000.00 per month
