Job title : Piping Stress Analysis Engineer

Purpose To perform piping stress analysis and flexibility studies for piping systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, design requirements and client standards, while supporting safe, reliable and constructable piping design.

Tasks / Roles and Responsibilities

- Perform piping stress analysis and flexibility calculations for process, utility, steam and boiler-related piping systems.
- Develop and review stress analysis models based on P&IDs;, piping layouts, isometrics, line lists and equipment data.
- Perform sustained, thermal, occasional and seismic load cases as applicable to the project.
- Check pipe stresses, displacements, reactions and nozzle loads for equipment such as pumps, vessels, tanks and boilers.
- Design and review pipe supports, restraints, guides, anchors and spring supports based on stress requirements.
- Prepare and review stress critical line lists, stress isometrics and support requirements.
- Coordinate with piping, mechanical, structural and equipment engineering teams to resolve stress-related issues.
- Review piping layouts for flexibility, routing, support spacing, thermal movement and constructability.
- Identify overstress, excessive displacement, high equipment nozzle loads and support-related issues and recommend suitable modifications.
- Prepare stress reports, calculation sheets and technical documentation for client/project review.




- Review vendor drawings and technical documents related to piping stress and equipment connections.
- Ensure all stress analysis activities comply with project specifications, applicable codes and client standards.

Job requirements (education, experience, additional qualifications) Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma – Mechanical / Production / or relevant Engineering discipline.

Experience:

- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Piping Stress Analysis.
- Experience in EPC, Engineering Consultancy, Boiler, Oil & Gas, Power or Industrial Projects preferred.
- Hands-on experience in piping stress analysis and flexibility studies.

Mandatory Skills:

- Robust knowledge of Piping Stress Analysis and Flexibility Analysis.
- Good knowledge of ASME B31.1 / B31.3 and applicable piping design codes.
- Experience in CAESAR II or equivalent piping stress analysis software.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs;, Piping GA, Isometrics, Line Lists and Equipment Drawings.
- Good knowledge of pipe supports, thermal expansion, equipment nozzle loads and stress requirements.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in Boiler, Power Plant, Oil & Gas and Process Piping Projects.
- Experience in CAESAR II modelling, load cases and stress reports.
- Knowledge of spring hanger selection and support design.
- Experience coordinating with Piping, Mechanical, Structural and Equipment teams.
- Ability to independently handle stress-critical lines and complete stress analysis packages.
