Piping Supervisor – Roles & Responsibilities
1. Supervise piping installation
· Monitor piping fabrication, erection, alignment, fit-up, and installation activities.
· Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project procedures.
2. Manpower Management
· Allocate work to fitters, welders, helpers, and other workers.
· Monitor manpower productivity and ensure proper utilization.
3. Drawing & Documentation
· Read and interpret P&IDs;, isometric drawings, GA drawings, and piping layouts.
· Ensure the latest approved drawings are being used at the site.
4. Quality Control
· Check pipe fit-up, alignment, slope, supports, flange orientation, and dimensions.
· Coordinate with the QC team for inspection and clearance.
· Ensure welding activities follow approved WPS/PQR requirements.
5. Material Control
· Verify piping materials, fittings, flanges, valves, gaskets, and bolts against the material requirements.
· Ensure correct material is installed in the correct location.
6. Safety
· Ensure workers follow site HSE procedures, PPE requirements, and protected work practices.
· Conduct toolbox talks and identify potential hazards before starting work.
· Ensure proper permits are available for hot work, lifting, confined-space work, etc.
7. Coordination
· Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, welding, QC, and HSE teams.
· Resolve site issues and report major problems to the Piping Engineer/Construction Manager.
8. Inspection & Testing
· Coordinate hydrotesting, pneumatic testing where applicable, flushing, blowing, and other required testing activities.
· Ensure punch-list items are completed before handover.
9. Progress Monitoring
· Track daily piping installation progress.
· Prepare daily reports covering manpower, work completed, materials, equipment, and site issues.
10. Equipment & Tools
· Ensure required equipment such as cranes, JLGs, scissor lifts, welding machines, chain blocks, and lifting tools are available and properly used.
11. Housekeeping
· Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
· Ensure pipes, fittings, tools, and equipment are stored safely and properly.
12. Handover
· Ensure completed piping systems are inspected, tested, and cleared for commissioning/handover.
· Close outstanding punch points and maintain necessary records.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
