– FROZEN COLD STORAGE PICKER

Position: Frozen Cold Storage Picker

Department: Warehouse / Cold Storage

Reports To: Cold Storage Supervisor / Warehouse In-charge

Location: Frozen Cold Storage

1. Job Purpose

To accurately and safely pick frozen food products from cold storage locations as per picking lists, sales orders, production requirements, or dispatch plans, ensuring product quality, FIFO/FEFO compliance, inventory accuracy, and timely dispatch.
1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Product Picking

- Receive and understand daily picking instructions/picking lists.
- Locate and pick the required frozen products from designated storage locations.
- Ensure correct product, SKU, batch, quantity and pack size are picked.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO principles as applicable.
- Ensure products are handled carefully to avoid damage to packaging or products.
- Arrange picked products systematically for dispatch or staging.

B. Cold Storage Operations
- Follow all cold storage entry and safety procedures.
- Wear required PPE and cold-protection equipment.
- Minimize unnecessary door opening and time spent inside the cold room.
- Maintain proper product arrangement and storage discipline.
- Immediately report damaged, leaking, thawed, or abnormal products to the supervisor.
- Keep aisles, racks and picking areas clean and unobstructed.

C. Inventory Accuracy
- Verify physical stock against the picking list/system.
- Report stock shortages, excess stock, wrong-location stock and batch discrepancies.
- Ensure picked quantities are correctly recorded.
- Support periodic physical stock verification and cycle counting.
- Avoid mixing different SKUs or batches during picking.

D. Quality & Food Safety
- Maintain frozen-chain requirements during picking and staging.
- Ensure products remain in the required frozen condition.
- Follow company food-safety, hygiene and handling procedures.




- Do not pick products with damaged packaging or quality concerns without supervisor approval.
- Follow traceability and batch-control requirements.

E. Dispatch Support
- Complete picking within the planned dispatch time.
- Transfer picked materials to the designated staging/dispatch area.
- Coordinate with loading personnel for dispatch requirements.
- Ensure dispatch quantities match the approved picking list.
- Support loading activities when required.

F. Safety
- Follow all warehouse and cold-storage safety instructions.
- Use material-handling equipment only if trained and authorized.
- Maintain secure movement around racks, pallets and equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents and near misses immediately.
- Follow emergency procedures for cold-room operations.

G. Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping in the picking area.
- Keep pallets, cartons and materials properly arranged.
- Ensure waste packaging is disposed of in designated areas.
- Follow 5S practices in the cold storage area.

- Attend shift briefing.
- Check picking list / system requirements.
- Identify storage location.
- Pick the correct SKU and batch.
- Verify quantity and product condition.
- Record/scan the picked quantity.
- Move products to staging area.
- Complete pending picking requirements.
- Report shortages/damages/discrepancies.
- Maintain housekeeping and hand over pending activities to the next shift.

1. Qualification & Experience

Qualification: Minimum 10th / 12th standard preferred.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
