Network (NSX) Engineer - VCF9 Migration

Key Responsibilities

- Owns NSX-T design validation and migration execution, including logical switching, distributed routing, and Tier-0/Tier-1 gateway cutover, for VCF9 migration waves.
- Leads network cutover activities during migration waves typically the critical path sequencing cutover windows in coordination with the Senior Migration Engineer and Migration Architect.
- Monitors tickets, responses, and resolutions for network events tied to migration waves; gathers and analyzes bandwidth and NSX flow data.
- Documents scheduled maintenances, network topologies, NSX segment/gateway configurations, and connectivity mappings in the designated tool.




- Opens service requests to vendors for hardware/software problems; works with Service Providers for proper handling of outages, maintenances, or other problems during cutover windows.
- Communicates cutover status and network risk to customers and the Migration Coordinator/PMO via tickets, emails, and calls.
- Ensures NSX and network alerts are detected, acknowledged, and resolved in a timely manner during and after cutover.
- Documents planned and unplanned network events and changes; follows change and escalation processes for unique, complex, or critical network cutover changes and customer outages.
- Validates rollback readiness for network cutover activities in partnership with the QA/Validation Engineer.
