Role Description The MEP Project Engineer at Dotand will oversee Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems design and coordination for architectural projects, ensuring integration with overall building plans. This full-time, on-site role is based in Ambattur and involves working closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and vendors to deliver efficient, code-compliant solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing drawings, preparing MEP layouts, conducting load calculations, checking technical specifications, and supporting value engineering efforts.

The role also includes monitoring project progress, resolving site-level MEP issues, participating in client and consultant meetings, and ensuring that installation and commissioning meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design and coordination skills.
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate MEP works at project sites.
- Review and interpret MEP drawings, layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications.




- Coordinate with architects, civil, interior, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other project teams.
- Monitor site execution and ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings and standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and site teams for smooth project execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify technical issues or discrepancies.
- Ensure proper installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
- Monitor project progress and ensure activities are completed within the scheduled timeline.
- Prepare and maintain site reports, checklists, measurements, and documentation.
- Check material requirements and coordinate with procurement and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project standards.
- Resolve site-related technical issues in coordination with the project team.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on MEP progress and challenges.
- Candidates should possess Plumbing expertise, including water supply, drainage, and sanitary system design.
- Candidates should possess Project Management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Relevant degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Familiarity with building codes, standards, and safety regulations applicable to MEP systems.
- Proficiency in CAD or MEP design and the ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of MS Office and AutoCAD is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
- Candidates with experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, interior fit-out, or infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- 2–8 years of relevant experience in MEP project execution.
- Prior experience in MEP engineering for architectural projects is preferred.
