Role & responsibilities

- Preventative & Predictive Maintenance: Implement daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance schedules for all mechanical plant assets to minimize costly production line stops.
- Troubleshooting & Emergency Repair: Diagnose complex mechanical failures across the manufacturing lineincluding conveyors, calciners, board cutters, and transfer tablesand coordinate swift, permanent repairs.
- Rotating Equipment Management: Monitor and maintain critical rotating machinery, analyzing vibrating and thermal telemetry to forecast component breakdown.
- Hydraulics & Pneumatics: Service and optimize pneumatic systems (used in board handling/stacking) and hydraulic power units (used in heavy pressing and forming).

Inventory & Resource Management

- Spare Parts Optimization: Manage critical mechanical spares inventory, ensuring immediate availability of long-lead items like specialized bearings, gearboxes, and customized cutting blades.
- Budget Alignment: Assist the Maintenance Manager in planning annual maintenance budgets, identifying cost-saving areas without compromising safety or reliability.
- Vendor & Contractor Supervision: Manage third-party mechanical contractors and technicians during routine turnarounds or complex machinery overhauls.

Safety, Systems, & Compliance

- CMMS Administration: Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders,



catalog equipment history, and generate key reliability reports (MTBF/MTTR).
- EHS Standards: Strict enforcement of industrial safety standards, Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and dust-mitigation maintenance practices unique to gypsum and stucco environments.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Experience: 5 to 7 + years of mechanical maintenance experience in a continuous manufacturing plant. Direct experience in gypsum board, cement, plaster, or heavy building materials industries is highly preferred.

- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on proficiency with heavy industrial gearboxes, belt/screw conveyors, and pneumatic pneumatic systems.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, fabrication drawings, and structural schematics.
- Familiarity with alignment tools, balancing instruments, and vibration analysis equipment.
- Operational Demands: Ability to work adaptable shifts, handle "on-call" emergency support, and work efficiently within dusty, high-temperature manufacturing zones.

- Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of automated machinery, PLCs, and how they interface with mechanical actuators.
- Certifications in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
