Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Designer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems and components for industrial automation and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs).

The role involves close collaboration with Automation Engineers, Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, and other cross-functional teams to develop innovative, reliable, and efficient mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Conceptualization & Design: Develop mechanical concepts and designs for automated systems and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), focusing on functionality, performance, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
- 3D Design & Visualization: Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, visualizations, and animations to communicate design concepts and demonstrate machine functionality.
- Manufacturing Drawings: Prepare accurate 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software, including dimensions, tolerances, specifications, and material details.
- Design Customization: Modify and adapt mechanical designs based on specific project and application requirements.
- Component Integration: Design mechanical assemblies that allow efficient integration of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
- Precision & Accuracy: Ensure high attention to detail in the design of mechanical components and assemblies to achieve optimum performance.
- Safety & Compliance:



Incorporate appropriate safety features and ensure mechanical designs comply with applicable safety requirements and standards.
- Design Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve machine efficiency, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and productivity while minimizing downtime.
- Modular & Scalable Design: Develop modular and scalable mechanical systems that can be easily adapted to changing production requirements.
- Testing & Validation: Support or conduct testing, simulation, prototyping, and validation of mechanical designs and make necessary improvements based on test results.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Automation, Electrical, Production, Purchase, and Project teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), specifications, assembly documents, installation documents, and maintenance-related documentation.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drafting software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of SPM and industrial automation machinery.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances, materials, and fasteners.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a project-based, fast-paced industrial environment.
