ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a senior full stack developer who can own a product module from requirement to production release without hand-holding. This is a hands-on individual contributor role: you will design the data model, build the Java backend services, develop the React front end, write your own unit tests, and see the feature through code review, deployment and post-release support.

The person we are looking for is comfortable being the only engineer on a feature. You will be expected to make sound architectural calls, raise risks early, and use modern AI development tools to move faster without lowering the quality bar.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own full product features end to end requirement analysis, technical design, database schema, backend APIs, front-end implementation, testing, deployment and production support.
- Design and build backend services in Java (Spring Boot) REST APIs, business logic, integrations with third-party and internal systems.
- Develop responsive, component-driven user interfaces in React, with clean state management and reusable components.
- Model MongoDB schemas, indexes and aggregation pipelines; tune queries and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Write unit tests and integration tests for all code you deliver (JUnit/Mockito on the backend, Jest/React Testing Library on the front end) and maintain meaningful coverage.
- Use AI development tools such as Claude, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar to accelerate design, coding,



test generation, refactoring and code review while reviewing and validating every AI-generated change before it ships.
- Debug production issues independently reproduce, root-cause, fix and document.
- Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release readiness.
- Document technical design, API contracts and deployment steps so the work is transferable to the rest of the team.
- Work directly with product, QA and stakeholders — translate business requirements into a working solution and give realistic estimates.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 8+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java, including strong command of core Java, OOP, collections, concurrency and JVM fundamentals.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building production applications in React — hooks, functional components, state management (Redux / Context API), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Robust experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data and REST API design.
- Solid working knowledge of MongoDB — schema design, indexing, aggregation framework, and query optimisation.
- Proven track record of delivering features independently, end to end, with minimal supervision.
- Strong unit testing discipline — JUnit, Mockito, Jest or React Testing Library.




- Practical experience using AI coding assistants (Claude, Claude Code, Copilot or equivalent) as part of the day-to-day development workflow.
- Proficiency with Git, branching strategies and pull-request based development.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar) and containerised deployment (Docker).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make and defend design decisions.
- Clear written and verbal communication — able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

VALUABLE TO HAVE

- Experience with microservices architecture and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Cloud experience on AWS or Azure — EKS/Kubernetes, S3, managed databases.
- Exposure to TypeScript, Next.js or modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack).
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) alongside MongoDB.
- Performance profiling and application monitoring experience (ELK, Grafana, APM tools).
- Prior experience in a product engineering environment with frequent release cycles.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE

- Within 30 days — productive in the codebase, delivering small features independently.
- Within 60 days — owning a module end to end, including design decisions and test coverage.
- Within 90 days — shipping complete features to production on your own, and improving how the team builds and tests.

EDUCATION Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline — or equivalent practical experience.
