India Metallic: Senior Buyer Specialist Casting and Machining

This role is responsible for managing buying activities for the India Metallic Casting and Machining commodity area, supporting sourcing requirements across all CNH India facilities. The position will report directly to the India Metallic – Casting and Machining Manager and will be expected to manage assigned sourcing, supplier development, commercial and operational priorities for cast and machined components.

The role will support and execute sourcing strategy, supplier development, commercial negotiations, localization, cost reduction, and supply base performance for casting and machining parts. The person should have strong hands-on working experience with foundries and machining shops, including understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, capacity, quality requirements and supplier capability development.

- Manage buying activities for Casting and Machining commodities, supporting sourcing requirements across all CNH India facilities
- Support the India Metallic – Casting and Machining Manager in deploying commodity strategy for castings, machined components and related metallic parts across CNH India operations
- Lead supplier selection, RFQ management, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiations and contracting for assigned parts in alignment with cost, quality and timeline targets
- Work closely with stakeholders across CNH India facilities to ensure timely sourcing support, cost competitiveness, supplier readiness and alignment with plant operational requirements
- Ensure compliance with Purchasing processes, systems, and Delegation of Authority (DoA)
- Lead annual cost negotiations including YOY productivity, raw material variations,



commercial and technical cost reductions in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Manage and control material cost drivers including raw material indices, inflation, productivity, and supplier economics
- Own budget planning (material cost, capex, revenue) and continuous tracking of performance vs targets
- Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to define long-term sourcing strategies and supplier roadmap
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships and long-term agreements for key metallic suppliers
- Monitor and mitigate supply base risks related to delivery, capacity, quality, and financial stability
- Drive localization and supply base optimization for competitiveness and resilience

Education/Qualifications (Min): Mechanical Engineering Background

Essential experience and skills:

- 15–20 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing or commodity management within Automotive / Off-highway / Industrial sectors
- Robust hands-on experience in casting and machining commodities, with direct working knowledge of foundries, machining shops, process capability, tooling, quality systems and cost structures
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, cost negotiation, supplier management and spend governance in a matrix organization
- Strong exposure to:
- Supplier development & quality interface
- Commercial negotiations
- Stakeholder management (global & regional)
- Deep understanding of foundry and machining manufacturing processes, including casting methods, machining operations, tooling, fixtures, process controls, inspection requirements and productivity improvement levers
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and change management skills
- Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation capabilities
- Good understanding of purchasing systems and governance frameworks
