UMICAP is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Head of Debt Capital Markets (DCM) to build and lead our Debt Capital Markets business.

The ideal candidate will be a senior DCM professional with strong experience in NCDs / Credit Papers, a well-established investor network, and a proven track record of building relationships with Family Offices, Corporate Treasuries, Mutual Funds, Banks, Institutional Investors, and other debt investors.

This is a leadership role with the opportunity to set up the DCM desk from the ground up, build a high-performing team, and drive significant business volumes.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and establish the Debt Capital Markets (DCM) desk at UMICAP.
- Develop and execute the overall DCM business strategy, distribution model, and revenue plan.
- Build, manage, and lead a strong DCM sales and distribution team.
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with:

- Family Offices

- Corporate Treasuries

- Mutual Funds

- Banks and Financial Institutions

- Institutional Investors
- HNIs and other debt investors
- Drive the origination and distribution of NCDs and corporate credit papers across various rating categories.

- Lead the distribution of
- BBB to A- rated credit papers: 1,5002,000 Crore
- A+ to AAA rated corporate and NBFC papers: 8,00015,000 Crore
- Leverage existing investor relationships to achieve consistent subscription and distribution across issuances.
- Build a strong investor pipeline and ensure regular engagement with key institutional and large-ticket investors.
- Work closely with issuers, arrangers, investment banking teams, and internal stakeholders to identify and execute debt transactions.
- Develop market intelligence around pricing, investor appetite, credit spreads, liquidity, and competing issuances.
- Ensure strong execution, compliance,



and risk discipline across the DCM business.
- Take ownership of business targets, team performance, transaction execution, and overall P&L; of the DCM desk.

Preferred candidate profile We are looking for a seasoned DCM professional who brings strong market credibility, institutional relationships, and demonstrated business-building capability.

Essential Requirements:

- 12 - 20 years of overall professional experience, with significant experience in senior leadership roles within Debt Capital Markets / Fixed Income / Credit Markets.
- Strong experience in a DCM role with a well-recognized financial services, investment banking, brokerage, or capital markets organization.
- Proven track record of successfully selling and distributing A to AA rated NCDs / corporate debt papers.
- Strong and demonstrable relationships across:

- Family Offices

- Corporate Treasuries

- Mutual Funds

- Banks

- Institutional Investors

- HNIs / Large Investors
- Strong understanding of the Indian debt market, NCDs, corporate bonds, NBFC debt, credit ratings, pricing, and investor appetite.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale a DCM business and lead a high-performing team.
- Solid commercial orientation with excellent negotiation, relationship management, and execution skills.
- Ability to operate at a senior leadership level and independently drive business strategy and revenue.
