Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced GM Engineering to lead and oversee the design, development, and delivery of advanced control systems for Indian Navy programs. This role requires solid technical expertise, leadership capability, and full ownership of engineering execution across multiple high-stakes defence projects.

The GM Engineering will manage all engineering leads, ensure alignment across disciplines, and be fully accountable for project outcomes—on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Engineering Manager & leads across disciplines (systems, software, hardware, testing, and integration).
- Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans for team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Project Ownership & Delivery

- Take end-to-end accountability for all engineering projects (except R&D;), from concept through deployment and lifecycle support.
- Ensure Engineering outcomes are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet all technical and contractual requirements.
- Assist in Business Development activities by providing estimates & BOM, budgetary quotes
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Technical Oversight

- Provide strategic direction on control systems design, architecture, and integration.
- Review and approve engineering designs, documentation, and technical decisions.
- Ensure adherence to relevant defence standards, safety requirements, and quality processes.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Collaborate closely with Business Development, Operations Management, Production, Quality Assurance, and external stakeholders.




- Act as the primary engineering interface for internal leadership and client representatives.
- Ensure seamless coordination between multiple engineering teams and vendors.

Process & Quality Management

- Implement and enforce robust engineering processes, tools, and best Engineering practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering efficiency, quality, and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, defence, and organizational standards& achieve necessary certifications.

Stakeholder Management

- Provide MSR, QSR to senior leadership on project status, risks, and performance metrics.
- Support client interactions, technical reviews, and audits.
- Build strong relationships with defence stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems, or related field.
- 15 years of experience in Control Systems, Embedded Systems engineering, with at least 7 years in leadership roles.
- Preferred to have experience in defence/naval engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of system integration, real-time systems, and safety-critical applications.
