Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced R2R Senior Consultant with a strong background in the retail industry to join our SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation project. The consultant will play a critical role in designing, reviewing, and implementing R2R processes, with a focus on retail-specific requirements, functional specification reviews, and integration oversight.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance modules, retail industry processes, global tax treatments, and integration between retail business streams and SAP systems.

Role Details - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Functional Specification Review:

- Collaborate with retail business stakeholders to gather and document R2R requirements specific to retail operations.
- Review and validate functional specifications for R2R processes, ensuring alignment with retail industry best practices and SAP standards.
- Provide recommendations for process optimization, especially for retail-specific financial scenarios like store accounting, consignment, and vendor reconciliation.

Integration Oversight:

- Oversee the integration of R2R processes with retail-specific modules such as SAP CAR (Customer Activity Repository), SAP IS-Retail, and other SAP components (e.g., MM, SD).
- Manage end-to-end data flow between point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and financial reporting.
- Validate test scenarios, integration tests, and UAT results to ensure seamless integration across retail and finance streams.

Retail-Specific Tax Treatment and Compliance:





- Define and implement tax configurations tailored for the retail industry, ensuring compliance with regional and global tax regulations (e.g., VAT/GST for multi-location operations, sales tax).
- Design automated tax processes for high-volume retail transactions.
- Coordinate integration with third-party tax engines like Vertex, Avalara, or SAP Tax Service to address retail tax scenarios.

Project Management Support:

- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for R2R in retail processes throughout the project lifecycle, from blueprinting to go-live.
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies for retail-specific challenges, such as high transaction volumes and inventory valuation.
- Ensure alignment of project milestones related to retail finance and integration.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Act as the primary contact for R2R topics in the retail stream, collaborating with global finance teams, retail operations, SAP consultants, and external vendors.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for retail finance users to drive adoption of R2R functionalities.

Functional/Technical Competencies

Education:

- Bachelor s/master s degree in accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.





Experience:

- Minimum 8+ years of experience in SAP Finance (FICO) with at least 2 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Proven expertise in retail industry processes, including store accounting, inventory valuation, Tax and multi-location financial consolidation.
- Strong background in R2R processes: GL, AP/AR, Asset Accounting, and Financial Closing.
- Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation projects.

Technical Skills:

- Knowledge of SAP Tax Configuration and integration with tax engines like Vertex, Avalara, or SAP Tax Service.
- Experience with retail-specific SAP modules (e.g., SAP CAR, IS-Retail).
- Proficiency in functional spec documentation and SAP module integration.
- Familiarity with FIORI apps and S/4HANA retail innovations.

Soft Skills:

- Robust communication skills for engaging with cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset to identify gaps and propose tailored solutions.
- Ability to manage high-pressure environments with retail-specific deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

- SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification.
- Experience with large-scale retail SAP projects involving multi-location and multi-currency operations.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
