Role Description The Freelance Musician will provide high-quality online music instruction and performance-based guidance to students across varied skill levels. This part-time remote role includes planning and conducting virtual lessons, demonstrating techniques and repertoire, and adapting teaching methods to individual learning styles and goals. Day-to-day tasks involve preparing lesson materials, offering constructive feedback on student progress, and maintaining transparent communication with learners and the school’s team.

Musician may also contribute to developing practice routines,



recording sample performances, and supporting Gandharva’s curated curriculum with creative input aligned to the school’s standards.

Qualifications

- Strong musical performance skills on one or more instruments or voice, with solid understanding of music theory and technique.
- Experience in online music teaching, including lesson planning, student assessment, and adapting instruction to different skill levels.
- Ability to use digital tools for remote instruction (video conferencing platforms, recording software, shared documents) and manage online learning environments effectively.
- Clear, encouraging communication skills, with a patient and inclusive teaching style suitable for diverse age groups and backgrounds.
- Prior experience in structured music education (e.g., music school, conservatory, or equivalent training); formal qualifications or certifications in music education are a plus.
- Reliable internet connection, suitable equipment for high-quality audio/video, and capacity to work independently within agreed schedules.
- Interest in contributing to a curated curriculum and aligning teaching with Gandharva’s “Musical Journeys for Different Student Personas.”
