WANTED - FIRE AND SAFETY ENGINEER

Job Location

Mumbai Andheri / Goregaon.

Job Purpose To ensure the effective operation, maintenance, testing and compliance of fire and life-safety systems across the premises, with particular focus on Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Fighting Systems and other integrated safety systems.

Key Responsibilities-

1. Fire Alarm & Life Safety Systems

* Operate, monitor and maintain Fire Alarm & Detection Systems.
- Carry out troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and breakdown rectification.
- Conduct testing of smoke detectors, heat detectors, MCPs, hooters, modules and other fire alarm devices.
- Maintain fire alarm system records, testing reports and maintenance history.

1. Fire Fighting Systems

* Inspect and monitor fixed fire-fighting systems and equipment.
- Coordinate with maintenance/service agencies for testing, servicing and rectification.
- Check fire pumps, hydrant systems, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers and related equipment.
- Ensure fire-fighting equipment remains accessible and operational.

1. Integrated Safety Systems

* Working knowledge of PA System, CCTV and Access Control Systems.
- Coordinate with security, maintenance and facility teams for integrated emergency systems.
- Basic knowledge of BMS (Building Management System) and integration of fire/life-safety systems.

1. Installation & Commissioning

* Supervise/coordinate installation and commissioning of Fire Alarm and PA Systems.
- Conduct system testing, functional testing and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors during project execution.
- Support final testing, documentation and client handover.

1. Fire Safety Inspection

* Conduct regular fire & safety inspections of the premises.
- Identify unsafe conditions, fire hazards and non-compliances.
- Prepare inspection reports and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure emergency exits, escape routes and fire equipment are maintained properly.

1. Authority & Compliance Support

* Coordinate for fire-system testing and inspection with consultants,



contractors and relevant authorities.
- Support CFO/Fire Department testing, inspection and handover activities, wherever applicable.
- Maintain required fire safety records, certificates, testing reports and system documentation.

1. Emergency Preparedness

* Support fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises.
- Conduct fire safety awareness and basic emergency response training for staff.
- Ensure emergency communication systems are functional.
- Assist in emergency response and incident investigation.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm & Detection Systems
- Knowledge of Fire Fighting Systems
- Installation, testing and commissioning experience
- Troubleshooting of fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of PA System
- Knowledge of CCTV and Access Control
- Basic knowledge of BMS
- Knowledge of system testing, commissioning and handover
- Good documentation and report-preparation skills
- Knowledge of fire safety equipment and applicable Indian Standards

Qualification

Preferred

- Diploma / Degree in Fire Engineering, Fire & Safety Engineering, Electrical/Electronics or related field.
- Fire & Safety certification will be an advantage.
- Additional qualifications in Industrial Safety / Fire Safety will be preferred.

Experience

- 3–8 years of relevant experience in Fire & Life Safety Systems.
- Experience in high-rise buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, malls or commercial buildings will be preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in Fire Alarm System installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting will be given preference.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Hands-on technical experience in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Experience in project execution and service/maintenance.
- Ability to coordinate with contractors, vendors and facility teams.
- Positive communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to independently identify technical problems and coordinate corrective actions.
- Knowledge of BMS and integrated building security systems will be an added advantage.
