We are looking for an experienced Fashion Designer – Men’s Shirts with strong experience in domestic fashion brands. The candidate will be responsible for seasonal design research, concept development, garment design, sampling, tech packs, and providing design support through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept & Design Research
- Conduct design and trend research for upcoming seasons.
- Study market trends, customer preferences and competitor brands.
- Conduct market visits for design intelligence and competitive analysis.
- Design & Product Development
- Develop creative concepts and designs for men’s shirts.
- Create sampling tech packs and design specifications.
- Work on product sampling and ensure timely completion of the range.
- Design labels, trims and other product components.
- Provide design support for selected styles to ensure timely production handovers.
- Sampling & Vendor Coordination
- Follow up on sampling placement with in-house teams and external vendors.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for timely range completion.
- Review samples and suggest necessary design/construction changes.
- Fit & Garment Construction
- Work on fit-related changes based on market requirements.
- Ensure proper understanding of garment construction.
- Support pattern making and garment construction activities.
- Commercial & Market Understanding
- Monitor sell-through to understand product performance.
- Use market and sales insights to improve product design and collections.
- Track competitive brands and identify emerging design opportunities.
Qualification & Mandatory Skills
- Graduate in Fashion Design (FD) from NIFT / Pearl Academy preferred.
- 7–8 years of relevant experience in domestic fashion brands.
- Must have strong experience in designing men’s shirts.
- Strong technical knowledge of shirt fabrics and garment construction.
- Good knowledge of pattern making and garment construction.
- Proficiency in design software
- CorelDRAW
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Strong understanding of tech packs, sampling, labels and trims.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
