Factory Head (Acoustic & Metal Building Products)

Business: Techno Building Products (Acoustic Panels & Metal Ceiling Systems)

Reporting To: Director / Management

Role Overview The Factory Head will own end-to-end plant operations for dual manufacturing units producing acoustic PET panels and metal ceiling systems. This role is accountable for delivering production targets, optimizing operational efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring seamless coordination between design, sales, and execution teams.

The position requires a hands-on operations leader with strong exposure to project based manufacturing, high workforce management, and process standardization in a fast-growing building products setting.

Core Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Production Management

- Lead complete factory operations across acoustic and metal product lines
- Drive production planning aligned with sales orders, BOQs, and project timelines
- Oversee key processes: cutting, forming, CNC punching, bending, moulding, panel finishing, and assembly
- Ensure adherence to delivery schedules with optimal capacity utilization
- Continuously improve throughput, reduce cycle time, and eliminate bottlenecks

2. Workforce & Shift Management

- Manage and lead 100+ workforce including contract labour and staff
- Optimize manpower deployment across shifts and production lines
- Build accountability across Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams
- Coordinate closely with HR/Admin on discipline, attendance, and statutory compliance

3. Cross-Functional Coordination





- Act as the central execution bridge between Design, Sales, and Factory
- Ensure clarity and accuracy of drawings, specifications, and production instructions
- Prioritize manufacturing schedules based on project criticality and dispatch commitments
- Support techno-commercial alignment for customized project requirements

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to defined QC standards for all finished goods
- Minimize rejection, rework, and customer complaints through root cause analysis
- Drive implementation of quality systems and process controls
- Ensure compliance with factory safety norms, labour laws, and statutory requirements

5. Maintenance & Asset Reliability

- Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of all machinery
- Ensure high equipment uptime and operational readiness
- Plan and approve critical spare inventory
- Improve machine efficiency and lifecycle performance

6. Inventory & Material Control

- Monitor and control inventory of PET fibre, metal coils, hardware, and consumables
- Track material consumption and minimize wastage
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure uninterrupted supply chain
- Align material planning with production schedules and project pipelines

Dispatch & Logistics Execution

- Ensure timely and accurate dispatch aligned with project timelines
- Optimize packing standards to prevent transit damage
- Supervise loading operations and logistics coordination
- Improve dispatch accuracy and reduce site-level issues

8. MIS, KPIs & Performance Tracking

- Publish daily/weekly/monthly MIS to management
- Track and drive improvement across key KPIs:
- Production output vs plan
- Labour productivity
- Machine utilization
- Material wastage
- Rejection rates
- On-time dispatch

9. Process Excellence & Scale-Up

- Implement Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen initiatives
- Develop and institutionalize SOPs across production, quality, and maintenance
- Standardize workflows to reduce dependency on individuals
- Build scalable systems to support business growth and capacity expansion

Preferred candidate profile : Candidate Profile

Education:

- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (preferred)

Experience:

- 10 to 15 years in manufacturing operations, with at least 35 years in plant leadership
- Experience in building materials, metal fabrication, interiors, or project-based manufacturing preferred
- Strong exposure to labour-intensive environments
