Qualification: BE (Mechanical / Production / Automobile) Experience: 6-8 years

Experience

6 to 8 years of experience in design and development of exterior trim components such as front bumper, rear bumper, ORVM, claddings, roof rails, EV charge port, fuel filler assembly and other exterior decorative trims.

Scope of Role

Lead design and development of Exterior Trims and associated lighting systems in bumper grilles. Guide and mentor team members, manage project schedules, cost and targets, and oversee resource planning, competency development and people management.

Dimension of Function

Task scheduling and assignment, project execution, team guidance, design reviews, progress monitoring, communication with management and team members, relationship management and timely delivery of assigned tasks.

Key Stakeholders

Customers, Project/Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Engagement Managers, team members, partners, manufacturing vendors and exterior trim design house vendors.

Area of Responsibility

Lead the complete design and development of exterior trim aggregates and lighting systems. Ensure execution of design activities across all program stages while driving project management, resource planning and team development.

Knowledge and Competencies

- End-to-end project delivery from kickoff to implementation including QFD, benchmarking, feature analysis,



engineering, drawing/model release, CAE support, DFMEA and DVP.
- Preparation of Bill of Materials for exterior systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for exterior aggregates.
- Trims engineering, assembly, mounting strategies, GD&T; and manufacturing processes including multi-shot injection molding.
- Homologation knowledge for exterior and lighting systems.
- Creation of master sections and interface management for craftsmanship requirements.
- Plastic component design, tooling understanding and mold flow analysis knowledge.
- Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes and critical quality parameters.
- Hands-on experience with CATIA V5 and engineering data management systems.
- Experience with major automobile OEMs is an advantage.
- Ability to prepare and modify RFQs covering product, quality and reliability requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Troubleshoot design and project issues and manage team performance effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Review and approve designs developed by team members.

- CATIA (Solid, Surface and Assembly Modeling, 3D Annotations)
- PLM systems, DMU and Teamcenter (TCE/TCUA)
- MS Office Suite with advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
