Role Description This is a full-time, on-site EHS Officer role based at GIC’s manufacturing facility in Jamnagar. The EHS Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures across the plant, ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal standards.

Daily activities include conducting safety inspections and risk assessments, overseeing workplace hygiene and occupational health measures, and supporting incident reporting and root-cause analysis. The role also involves organizing safety trainings,



maintaining EHS documentation and permits, coordinating with production and maintenance teams on safe work practices, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in safety and environmental performance. The EHS Officer collaborates with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture and environmentally responsible operations.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Health & Safety, with practical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Workplace Safety principles, including risk assessment, hazard control, and accident prevention.
- Relevant professional certification such as NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification.
- Familiarity with applicable safety and environmental regulations, standards, and compliance reporting.
- Excellent observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Effective communication and training skills to engage employees at all levels in safety initiatives.
- Diploma or degree in EHS, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience with audits, safety drills, emergency preparedness, and use of PPE and safety equipment is beneficial.
