We are looking for an experienced DFMEA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for automotive products, preferably powertrain components/systems. The candidate should have experience facilitating DFMEA activities, identifying design risks, defining mitigation actions, and working with cross-functional engineering teams during product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate DFMEA activities for automotive components and systems.
- Develop, review and maintain DFMEA documents throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Identify potential failure modes, failure effects, causes and design-related risks.
- Perform risk analysis and recommend appropriate prevention and detection controls.
- Define and track risk mitigation actions with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure DFMEA alignment with AIAG-VDA methodology.
- Conduct DFMEA reviews with Design, Engineering, Testing, Manufacturing, Quality and other stakeholders.
- Support root cause analysis and resolution of high-risk failure modes.
- Ensure proper linkage between DFMEA, design requirements, validation plans and engineering changes.
- Participate in design reviews and product development activities.
- Identify opportunities for risk reduction and continuous improvement.
- Maintain DFMEA documentation and ensure timely closure of action items.
- Support customer/internal audits and quality requirements related to DFMEA.
Mandatory Skills

- Experience with powertrain components/systems preferred/mandatory as per project

Ideal Candidate Profile 5+ years DFMEA experience + 3+ years powertrain experience + AIAG-VDA + DFMEA facilitation + automotive OEM/Tier-1/engineering services background would be the strongest profile
