Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain software for networking systems operating at Layer 2 and Layer 3, including real-time controllers, embedded Linux platforms, and ASIC-based hardware. The role requires strong programming fundamentals combined with deep expertise in access-layer networking protocols used in carrier-grade and enterprise networking equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and test embedded software for real-time controllers, embedded Linux systems, and ASIC drivers
- Apply advanced C/C++ programming skills, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, to build and maintain complex, scalable software systems
- Develop and integrate Layer 2/Layer 2+ access protocols including Ethernet, VLAN, QoS, Multicast, DHCP, PPPoE, 802.1x, RADIUS, CFM, ERP, xSTP, LLDP, LACP, and ANCP
- Work closely with hardware, firmware, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration between software and networking hardware platforms
- Debug and resolve complex software and protocol-level issues across the development lifecycle
- Contribute to architectural design decisions for networking software components, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing,



and system-level validation to maintain high code quality
- Document design specifications, implementation details, and test results for internal and customer-facing use

Required Skills

- Advanced programming skills in C or C++, with strong expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design and development
- Hands-on experience developing software for real-time controllers, embedded Linux, and ASIC drivers
- Strong working knowledge of IP-based networks and Layer 2/Layer 2+ access protocols: Ethernet, VLAN, QoS, Multicast, DHCP, PPPoE, 802.1x, RADIUS, CFM, ERP, xSTP, LLDP, LACP, and ANCP
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including the OSI model and TCP/IP stack
- Experience with debugging and profiling tools (e.g., GDB, Valgrind, JTAG) for embedded and real-time systems
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and standard software development tools/IDEs

Valuable to Have

- Experience with carrier-grade networking equipment (routers, switches, access points, gateways)
- Exposure to RTOS-based development (e.g., FreeRTOS)
- Familiarity with automation/testing frameworks for embedded networking software
- Knowledge of network security protocols and access control mechanisms
