Role Purpose:

We are seeking a Data Migration Consultant with hands-on SAP Data Services (BODS) development experience to support the SAP S/4HANA store rollout for the MAF Retail operating company. Reporting to the Data Migration Lead, the consultant will build and execute extraction, transformation and load jobs for retail master and transactional data, and will support reconciliation, defect resolution and cutover activities for each store wave.

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of SAP data migration experience, strong practical BODS dataflow development skills, and must have completed at least one full greenfield SAP S/4HANA retail implementation.

Role Details - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

BODS Development:

- Develop and unit test SAP Data Services jobs, dataflows and mappings for assigned retail migration objects.
- Translate approved mapping specifications into working transformation logic, following project naming, versioning and transport standards.
- Profile legacy source data, raise data quality issues to the business data owners, and support cleansing cycles.

Load Execution and Reconciliation:

- Execute loads into SAP S/4HANA using the Migration Cockpit and BODS for retail objects across MM, SD, FI and IS-Retail.
- Prepare staged data from legacy sources, run validation checks, and manage repeat and delta load cycles under the guidance of the Data Migration Lead.
- Produce reconciliation reports comparing record counts and key values against source, and log and resolve load defects.

Data Quality Support:

- Build and run data quality validation rules for retail master data,



ensuring completeness and accuracy before each load.
- Optimise dataflow performance to handle high-volume retail article, price and inventory data within agreed load windows.
- Maintain migration templates, mapping documentation and load evidence for audit purposes.

Project Support:

- Support all mock load cycles, dress rehearsals and store go-live cutovers, including out-of-hours execution where required.
- Escalate load risks and issues promptly, such as legacy data gaps, long run times or failed records.
- Track assigned migration objects against the data readiness plan and report progress to the Data Migration Lead.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Work closely with functional consultants, legacy system owners and business data owners to clarify mapping and validation questions.
- Participate in data validation sessions with business users and support them in reviewing loaded data.

Functional/Technical Competencies

Education:

- Bachelor s/master s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

- 5 to 8 years of experience in SAP data migration with hands-on SAP Data Services (BODS) development.
- Mandatory:



at least one complete greenfield SAP S/4HANA retail implementation delivered end to end, from design through go-live, with practical exposure to retail master data objects such as article, article hierarchy, site master, vendor and customer.
- Experience across the migration lifecycle: extraction, mapping, transformation, load, reconciliation and defect resolution.
- Experience supporting mock load cycles and cutover execution.

Technical Skills:

- Hands-on SAP Data Services (BODS) job and dataflow development, including transforms, lookups and error handling.
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM) and staging tables.
- Good SQL skills for data profiling, validation and reconciliation queries.
- Familiarity with retail data models in SAP IS-Retail and S/4HANA.

Soft Skills:

- Explicit communication skills for working with functional consultants and business data owners.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to data validation.
- Willingness to work extended or out-of-hours shifts during cutover weekends and store openings.

Preferred Qualifications:

- SAP Data Services or SAP S/4HANA Data Migration Certification.
- Exposure to multi-location, multi-country retail SAP rollouts.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies and defect management tools such as Jira or Solution Manager.
