Role & responsibilities

- Receive Bill of Materials (BOM) and construction details from the Design team for new enquiries, tenders, and existing products.
- Prepare detailed cost sheets covering raw material cost (conductor metal, insulation/sheathing compounds, armoring materials, packing materials).
- Track and apply current market rates for key inputs (e.g., copper/aluminum LME rates, polymer/compound prices) in cost calculations.
- Calculate conversion costs across manufacturing stages wire drawing, stranding, insulation, armoring, sheathing, testing, and packing including labor, machine, and power costs.
- Apply appropriate wastage/scrap norms, overheads, and other applicable cost factors.
- Add margins, freight, insurance, taxes, and other commercial elements to arrive at the final selling price.
- Prepare and submit costing sheets and quotations in coordination with the Sales team for customer enquiries and tenders.
- Perform comparative costing/value engineering analysis for alternate designs (e.g., copper vs aluminum conductor) in coordination with the Design team.
- Monitor and update standard costing periodically to reflect raw material price movements and process changes.
- Support budgeting, variance analysis, and profitability analysis for existing product lines.
- Maintain costing records, rate contracts, and historical costing data for audit and reference purposes.




- Coordinate with Purchase/Procurement to obtain updated vendor rates for raw materials and bought-out items.

Key Deliverables

- Accurate and timely cost sheets for new enquiries, tenders, and design changes.
- Competitive quotations aligned with company margin and pricing policy.
- Periodic cost/rate updates reflecting raw material and market price changes.
- Comparative cost analysis reports for value engineering initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, or Cost Accounting (B.Com / B.E. / ICWA-CMA preferred).
- Strong understanding of cable manufacturing processes and raw materials.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and costing/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Tally, or similar systems).
- Good numerical, analytical, and commercial acumen.
- Ability to read and interpret technical BOMs and construction sheets provided by the Design team.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight tender/quotation deadlines.

Experience 28 years of experience in costing/estimation within a cable or wire manufacturing (or similar process manufacturing) workplace (experience range may vary by seniority level Junior/Senior/Lead Costing Executive).

- Internal: Design Team, Sales & Marketing, Purchase/Procurement, Finance & Accounts, Production.
- External: Vendors/Suppliers (for rate updates), Customers (via Sales, for tender/quotation clarifications).
