Job Title: CMDB Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

CMDB Administration:

- Administer and maintain the CMDB, including the creation, configuration, and updating of

Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships.

- Ensure that CMDB data is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with internal policies and ITIL

best practices.

- Perform regular audits and data validation checks on the CMDB to ensure data quality and

consistency.

- Work with teams to define, design, and document configuration management processes and

procedures.

Discovery and Data Mapping:

- Manage and optimize the Discovery tool to identify and map CI data from various sources

(servers, network devices, applications, etc.).

- Ensure that Discovery probes and patterns are properly configured and scheduled to maintain

CMDB accuracy.

- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that automatic CI discovery and data reconciliation

are aligned with the current IT workplace.

- Service Mapping of Application and its dependencies.

Integration & Automation:

- Integrate CMDB with other ITSM tools and systems (e.g., monitoring tools, asset

management,



LDAP, etc.).

- Implement and maintain automated workflows for CI updates, lifecycle management, and

reconciliation processes.

- Develop custom scripts (Business Rules, Script Includes, etc.) to automate CMDB processes

and enforce data integrity rules.

Governance & Compliance:

- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure CMDB supports organizational

requirements and audits.

- Provide ongoing data quality reporting and recommend actions to improve data accuracy.

Technical Skills

- Hands-on experience with CMDB, including Discovery, Service Mapping, and related modules.

- Strong understanding of ITIL framework and the Configuration Management lifecycle.

- Experience with Discovery, Service Mapping, and data integration tools (REST/SOAP, Integration

Hub, LDAP).

- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL query writing.

- Experience with data governance, CMDB reporting tools (Reporting, Performance Analytics).
