Insight Global is seeking a Cisco UC Collaboration Engineer for a top enterprise technology client. This consultant will play a critical role in a large-scale Cisco Unified Communications modernization initiative, supporting the upgrade and migration of Cisco UC infrastructure including CUCM, Unity Connection, and Cisco Emergency Responder.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with enterprise voice environments, VMware deployments, Cisco UCS infrastructure, and UC application administration. This engineer will lead upgrade activities, perform system validation and testing, support production cutovers, and provide post-go-live support while ensuring minimal impact to business operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a highly visible UC transformation project within a complex enterprise environment.

Must-Haves:

- 5+ years of hands-on Cisco Unified Communications (UC) experience
- Experience administering and upgrading Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
- Experience supporting CUCM 12.x, 14.x, and/or 15.x environments
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Unity Connection
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Emergency Responder (CER)
- Experience with Cisco Voice Gateways
- Strong understanding of Cisco IP Telephony
- Experience with SIP and VoIP technologies
- Experience performing enterprise UC migrations and upgrades
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere environments
- Experience with CUCM backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures
- Solid troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills




- Ability to support production cutovers and after-hours maintenance activities

Day-to-Day:

- Assess and validate existing Cisco UC environments and infrastructure requirements
- Analyze assessment results and identify prerequisites for deployment
- Create migration, upgrade, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and operations teams
- Provision and configure Cisco UCS servers in VMware environments
- Deploy and configure VMware virtual machines supporting UC applications
- Perform server BIOS and infrastructure updates
- Validate network and UCS connectivity
- Execute CUCM backup and recovery procedures
- Perform CUCM 14.x to 15.x upgrades
- Install and configure CUCM, Unity Connection, and CER
- Upgrade Cisco IP Phone firmware and Voice Gateway IOS firmware
- Configure UC applications according to Cisco best practices
- Conduct system testing, validation, and performance checks
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Lead production cutovers and go-live activities
- Troubleshoot post-implementation issues
- Provide hypercare and production support after deployment
- Create operational documentation and perform knowledge transfer to support teams
