About SF Marine GroupSF Marine Group is a growing multi-location marine, offshore, defence and industrial organisation with an established business of approximately ₹60 crore and an ambitious growth roadmap.
As we scale, SF Marine is transitioning towards a professionally managed corporate structure with centralised functional leadership, qualified branch management, standardised SOPs, stronger financial controls and structured management reporting.
We are looking for an experienced Chartered Accountant to lead and build the Group's Finance function.
This is not a conventional Accounts Manager role. The successful candidate will be responsible for building systems, financial controls, cash-flow discipline, credit control, project financial monitoring and a professional finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete Finance & Accounts function of the Group.
- Establish Finance SOPs, internal controls, approval matrices and delegation of authority across branches.
- Manage working capital, cash flow forecasting, liquidity and financial planning.
- Establish strong credit control, receivables and collection systems.
- Monitor customer and branch-wise outstanding and financial exposure.
- Develop project-wise cash-flow, profitability and financial risk monitoring.
- Evaluate project funding requirements and coordinate external project funding on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the Partners.
- Monitor approved project funding/profit-sharing arrangements, project exposure and cash requirements.
- Identify project cash-flow gaps and financial risks at an early stage.
- Manage taxation, statutory compliance, audits and compliance calendars.
- Develop management MIS covering sales, margins, receivables, payables, cash flow, project profitability and financial risks.
- Strengthen ERP/accounting systems and branch-wise financial reporting.
- Build, mentor and manage a professional Finance team.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support to the Managing Director and Partners.
Project Finance & Risk ManagementA key part of the role will be project-level financial management. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing project financial feasibility and cash-flow projections.
- Identifying project funding requirements and potential cash-flow gaps.
- Monitoring actual versus projected project cash flows.
- Monitoring project costs, margins and profitability.
- Assessing customer/payment and counterparty risks.
- Monitoring financial exposure throughout the project lifecycle.
- Providing early-warning reports to management.
- Evaluating and monitoring external project funding arrangements where required.
SF Marine does not undertake interest-based financing. Where external project funding is required, it will be evaluated and structured on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the Partners, including appropriate commercial/profit-sharing arrangements where applicable. The Finance Head will be responsible for financial analysis, structuring support, documentation, monitoring and risk management. Final approval of such arrangements will remain with the Partners/Board.
Finance SOP & Control ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will establish a comprehensive Finance SOP framework covering:
- Customer credit approval and collections
- Purchase and payment controls
- Branch expenses and approvals
- Customer/vendor reconciliation
- Bank reconciliation
- Inventory and financial controls
- Month-end closing
- Credit notes and adjustments
- Financial approval matrix
- Project financial controls
- Statutory compliance
- Management reporting
The objective is to create one standard financial system across all branches, reducing dependence on individual partners and employees. Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a commercially oriented Chartered Accountant with:
- CA qualification with 12–20 years of experience.
- Experience managing Finance & Accounts for a multi-branch/multi-location organisation.
- Strong experience in working capital and cash-flow management.
- Strong credit control and collections experience.
- Experience in project finance,
project cash flow and financial risk management.
- Experience developing Finance SOPs and internal controls.
- Strong knowledge of taxation, statutory compliance and audits.
- Strong ERP/MIS and management-reporting experience.
- Experience building and managing Finance teams.
- Ability to work directly with promoters/business owners.
- Hands-on, analytical, commercially minded and process-oriented approach.
Preferred Industry ExperienceMarine | Shipping | Offshore | Oil & Gas | Defence | Engineering | EPC | Industrial Distribution | Industrial Trading | Logistics | Project-Based Businesses Experience in a ₹50 crore–₹300+ crore promoter-led or mid-sized organisation will be an advantage.

First 6 MonthsThe initial mandate will include:
0–30 Days: Review existing finance processes, accounts, receivables, cash flow, project exposure, compliance and team structure.
30–90 Days: Establish Finance SOPs, approval controls, credit-control system, cash-flow reporting, project financial monitoring and management MIS.
90–180 Days: Build the Finance team, strengthen ERP/MIS, implement branch financial controls and establish regular Group/project financial reviews.
