Role Overview The Chief Financial Officer will lead the Companys finance function and provide strategic financial direction to support profitable growth, strong governance and effective capital management. The role combines financial planning, accounting oversight, statutory reporting, treasury and commercial decision support within a listed professional services business.
The CFO will work closely with senior management and business leaders to improve financial performance, strengthen internal controls and support informed decisions on pricing, resource deployment and growth investments.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning
- Develop financial plans aligned with the Companys business strategy.
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and financial scenario analysis.
- Evaluate growth opportunities, investments and funding requirements.
- Provide management and the Board with clear insights into financial performance, risks and corrective actions.
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Oversee accounting operations, monthly closing and preparation of accurate financial statements.
- Ensure appropriate application of accounting standards, including Ind AS, and applicable financial reporting requirements.
- Review revenue recognition, unbilled revenue, receivables, provisions and project-related costs.
- Present timely financial reports and variance analysis to management and the Audit Committee.
Commercial and Project Finance
- Partner with business teams on proposal costing, pricing, contract terms and profitability assessment.
- Monitor engagement margins, employee utilisation, delivery costs and billing milestones.
- Assess the financial implications of tenders, payment terms, bank guarantees and customer commitments.
- Support business growth while maintaining pricing discipline and protecting margins.
Treasury and Working Capital
- Manage cash-flow forecasting, liquidity, banking relationships and funding arrangements.
- Strengthen collections and monitor overdue receivables, credit exposure and payment commitments.
- Oversee deployment of surplus funds within approved policies.
- Maintain appropriate controls over payments, banking access and financial authorisations.
Compliance, Governance and Audit
- Oversee applicable direct and indirect tax compliance, including income tax, GST and TDS.
- Coordinate statutory and internal audits and ensure timely resolution of observations.
- Work with the Company Secretary on financial disclosures and applicable Companies Act and SEBI listing requirements.
- Support applicable CFO certifications and Board/Audit Committee reporting.
- Strengthen internal financial controls, approval processes and fraud-prevention measures.
Stakeholder Management and Team Leadership
- Manage relationships with auditors, bankers, tax advisers and other financial stakeholders.
- Support investor communications with accurate financial information and analysis.
- Lead and develop the finance and accounts team.
- Improve finance systems, reporting automation and process efficiency while safeguarding confidential information.
Qualifications and Experience.
- Chartered Accountant qualification.
- Preferably 1215 years of relevant experience, including at least 56 years in a senior finance leadership role.
- Experience in a listed company, with exposure to financial reporting, governance and audit committee interactions.
- Experience in IT services, consulting, cybersecurity, audit or other skilled services businesses preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Ind AS, taxation, financial controls, treasury and project-based revenue recognition.
- Demonstrated ability to manage working capital and translate financial analysis into business decisions.
