Role Overview
VITS Kamats Hospitality Group is looking for an experienced, strategic, and result-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization’s overall financial strategy, governance, financial planning, risk management, and business performance.
The CFO will be responsible for driving financial sustainability, profitability, cash flow optimization, compliance, and strategic decision-making across the corporate office and multiple hotel units.
The role will work closely with the Managing Director, Promoters, Senior Management, Operations, Projects, HR, Legal, Purchase, and other business functions to support business growth, expansion, new hotel projects, and long-term organizational objectives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and lead the organization’s overall financial strategy in alignment with business objectives
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the Promoters and Senior Management
- Drive long-term financial planning, profitability, growth, and financial sustainability
- Evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost optimization
- Establish financial targets, KPIs, and performance benchmarks across business units
- Support management in evaluating strategic business decisions, investments, and expansion plans
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and business planning process across corporate and hotel units
- Develop financial forecasts, business projections, and scenario-based financial models
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts and recommend corrective actions
- Evaluate financial feasibility of new hotels, projects, leases, management contracts, and other business opportunities
- Develop financial models for expansion, capital expenditure, and new business initiatives
- Provide periodic financial performance reviews to Senior Management
3. Corporate Finance & Financial Operations
- Oversee the overall finance and accounting functions of the organization
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, MIS, P&L;, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management reports
- Strengthen financial systems, processes, controls, and reporting structures across all units
- Ensure effective revenue accounting, credit control, collections, procurement controls, expense management, and inventory controls
- Ensure proper accounting practices and financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards, including Ind AS
- Drive standardization of finance processes and reporting across all hotel properties
4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Provide strategic oversight of organizational cash flow and working capital management
- Develop and monitor short-term and long-term cash flow projections
- Optimize receivables, payables, inventory, and working capital cycles
- Monitor fund requirements across corporate and hotel units
- Establish appropriate controls over cash, banking, collections, and payments
- Maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions
- Evaluate and manage funding requirements for business operations and expansion
5. Banking,
Funding & Financial Institutions
- Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, lenders, and other financial stakeholders
- Evaluate and negotiate working capital facilities, loans, credit lines, and other financial arrangements
- Monitor interest costs, borrowing structures, repayment schedules, and financing arrangements
- Support the organization in raising funds for expansion and new projects where required
- Ensure timely submission of financial information and documentation to lenders and financial institutions
- Optimize the organization’s overall financing structure
6. Business Expansion & Investment Evaluation
- Provide financial leadership for new hotel projects, acquisitions, leases, management contracts, and strategic investments
- Conduct financial feasibility studies and ROI analysis for proposed projects
- Review project budgets, capital expenditure, operating projections, and funding requirements
- Assess financial risks and returns associated with new business opportunities
- Support Senior Management in investment and expansion decisions
- Monitor financial performance of new projects from development through stabilization
7. Compliance, Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, LWF, Companies Act, and other applicable statutory requirements
- Ensure timely filing of statutory and regulatory returns
- Establish and strengthen financial governance and internal control systems
- Identify and mitigate financial, operational, tax, and business risks
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, SOPs, and delegated authority frameworks
- Maintain appropriate financial controls across corporate and hotel operations
- Work closely with legal and skilled advisors on financial and regulatory matters
8. Audit & Financial Controls
- Oversee internal, statutory, tax, and other financial audits
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely closure of audit observations
- Strengthen internal audit mechanisms and financial control systems
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial information
- Identify control gaps and implement appropriate corrective measures
- Establish effective risk management and fraud prevention controls
9. Hospitality Finance & Property Performance
- Monitor financial performance across all hotel properties and business units
- Review hotel-level revenue, GOP, departmental profitability, operating costs, and key financial indicators
- Monitor food cost, beverage cost, manpower cost, room cost, utility expenses, and other operating expenses
- Drive cost optimization and profitability improvement initiatives across properties
- Review hotel budgets and monthly financial performance with Unit Heads and Operations
- Ensure implementation of financial SOPs and controls across all hotels
- Provide financial support for hotel pre-openings and new property transitions
10. MIS, Analytics & Management Reporting
- Establish effective financial MIS and reporting systems for Senior Management
- Develop dashboards and reports covering revenue, profitability, cash flow, working capital, cost, and business performance
- Provide actionable financial insights to support management decision-making
- Analyze business trends, variances, risks, and opportunities
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across all business units
11. Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and mentor the corporate finance and accounts function
- Build a strong, accountable, and performance-driven finance team
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, KPIs, and reporting structures
- Develop finance talent and succession plans across the organization
- Conduct periodic performance reviews of finance teams
- Promote a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement
12. Cross-Functional & Senior Management Coordination
- Work closely with the Promoters, Managing Director, Senior Management, and Business Heads on financial matters
- Partner with Operations, HR, Legal, Purchase, Projects, Sales, and other functions to improve business performance
- Provide financial inputs for strategic and operational decisions
- Support management in negotiations involving vendors, landlords, lenders, business partners, and other stakeholders
- Ensure alignment between financial objectives and operational priorities
Key Skills & Competencies Required
• Strong experience in corporate finance and hospitality finance
- Proven expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning
- Strong knowledge of cash flow and working capital management
- Excellent understanding of taxation, statutory compliance, audit, and financial governance
- Strong financial modelling and investment evaluation skills
- Experience in banking, funding, and financial institution management
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and property-level financial performance
- Excellent analytical, commercial, and strategic decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Robust knowledge of ERP, Tally, hotel accounting systems, MS Excel, and financial reporting tools
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-unit, fast-growing hospitality organization
Qualification & Experience
• CA / MBA (Finance) / equivalent professional qualification preferred
• Extensive experience in Finance & Accounts , preferably within the hospitality, hotel, real estate, or service industry
• Proven experience in handling multi-unit / multi-location financial operations
- Experience in a senior finance leadership role with responsibility for strategic financial decision-making
- Strong exposure to business expansion, project finance, budgeting, cash flow, compliance, and financial controls
• Candidates with experience in hotel groups / hospitality chains / growing organizations will be preferred
