About GCRS Group
GCRS Group is a global regulatory consultancy working across cosmetics, fragrance, personal care, food supplements, medical devices and other regulated consumer products.
As GCRS continues to expand across international markets and strengthen its technology, digital products and operational capabilities, we are seeking a Business Architect to help shape the way the organization operates and grows.
This position sits at the intersection of business strategy, operations and technology. The successful candidate will examine how different functions work together, identify opportunities for improvement and help create practical structures that support the company's long-term objectives.
This role offers an opportunity to work on genuine business challenges, influence decision-making and contribute to the development of processes and systems that can support GCRS as it scales.
The Role The Business Architect will work with management and teams across regulatory, commercial, operations, technology and product functions to understand business priorities and translate them into workable solutions.
You will examine existing processes, systems and operating models, challenge areas that are no longer effective and help design better ways of working.
Some projects may involve technology implementation or digital transformation, while others may focus on organisational structure, workflow design, process improvement or business planning. The ability to understand the wider business context while paying attention to operational details will be important.
This is a practical role for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems and can move confidently between strategic conversations and detailed process discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing business processes and workflows to understand what is working well and where teams may be facing unnecessary delays, duplication or inefficiencies.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives and turn those objectives into explicit, realistic and actionable requirements.
- Help develop business architecture frameworks and operating models that support the company's current needs while allowing room for future growth.
- Look for practical ways to improve productivity, reduce manual work and make business processes easier to manage and scale.
- Map key business functions, processes, capabilities and information flows to create a clear picture of how different areas of the organisation connect.
- Work with management to convert broader business strategies into structured initiatives, priorities and implementation plans.
- Identify gaps between the way a process works today and what the business will need in the future as GCRS expands.
- Prepare clear business requirements for software, digital transformation and technology-related projects.
- Work closely with software developers, AI engineers, data specialists and product teams to ensure that technology solutions address genuine business requirements.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of digital products and technology-enabled services offered by GCRS.
- Assess existing processes and systems and recommend where technology could make operations more efficient or improve the client experience.
- Explore opportunities to introduce automation and AI where they can deliver meaningful improvements rather than adding unnecessary complexity.
- Create process maps, workflows, business models and functional requirements that can be easily understood by both business and technical teams.
- Understand how changes to one business function or system may affect other departments, processes, data or client-facing activities.
- Support teams in designing and introducing new processes that are practical, clearly documented and easy for employees to adopt.
- Help GCRS build scalable operating structures that can support increasing clients, services, markets and internal teams.
- Review business performance and operational information to identify areas where processes, resources or systems could be improved.
- Prepare business cases, recommendations and supporting analysis for new projects, systems and strategic initiatives.
- Help management assess and prioritise business and technology projects based on their potential value, urgency, complexity and business impact.
- Bring relevant stakeholders together to clarify project objectives, define scope and ensure that expectations are aligned before implementation begins.
- Act as a bridge between business teams and technical teams, helping both sides understand requirements, limitations and expected outcomes.
- Identify operational risks, process gaps and areas where the current way of working may create challenges as the business grows.
- Support the implementation of new processes and help teams adapt to changes in systems, technology and ways of working.
- Maintain clear documentation covering business processes, requirements, workflows, operating models and key business decisions.
- Review the results of implemented solutions and recommend further improvements where the expected business outcomes have not been fully achieved.
- Keep up to date with developments in AI, automation, digital transformation and modern business architecture practices that could be relevant to GCRS.
What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in understanding how businesses function and how they can operate more effectively.
The candidate should be comfortable asking challenging questions, examining information from different sources and developing a clear view of a problem before recommending a solution.
The position requires someone who can understand the priorities of senior management while remaining close enough to day-to-day operations to recognise practical issues that may otherwise be overlooked.
Commercial awareness, sound judgement and the ability to communicate clearly will matter as much as technical knowledge.
We are looking for a person who can connect business strategy, operational requirements and technology without losing sight of the people who ultimately use the processes and systems.
Essential Experience and Skills
- A degree or professional background in business architecture, business analysis, consulting, strategy, operations, information systems or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of business processes, organisational structures and operating models, with the ability to assess how they function in practice.
- Proven capability in gathering requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, meetings and process reviews.
- A structured approach to analysing complex problems and breaking them into manageable areas for action.
- Confidence in documenting business processes and explaining them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Practical knowledge of workflow design, process mapping and requirements documentation.
- An understanding of how technology systems support business activities and how changes in one area can affect others.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with people from different departments, levels of seniority and professional backgrounds.
- Skill in converting business needs into clear functional requirements that development or implementation teams can act upon.
- Familiarity with digital transformation concepts and the role technology can play in changing established business models.
- Working knowledge of project delivery and organisational change, particularly where new systems or processes are being introduced.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to recognise inefficiencies and propose realistic improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills for managing multiple initiatives, stakeholder discussions and competing priorities.
- Commercial understanding of how operational decisions affect cost, efficiency, customer experience and business growth.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to management consulting, strategic advisory or business transformation projects can provide useful experience for this position.
- Familiarity with AI and automation initiatives will help when assessing opportunities to modernise existing workflows.
- Knowledge of business process management platforms can assist with analysing and redesigning complex operational activities.
- Experience with CRM, ERP or other enterprise business systems.
- Participation in digital transformation programmes and knowledge of enterprise architecture.
- Familiarity with BPMN or another recognised process-modelling methodology
- Experience preparing transformation roadmaps or investment proposals.
- Exposure to data, reporting and analytics projects.
Why Join Us?
GCRS is entering an exciting phase of growth, with increasing international activity alongside investment in technology, AI and digital capabilities.

The candidate will gain direct exposure to management and collaborate with regulatory, commercial, operations, technology and product teams. The role is particularly suited to someone who wants to build something rather than simply maintain an existing structure. As the company's technology and operating capabilities develop, there will be scope to take on greater responsibility across business transformation, strategy and technology.
