We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Subject Matter Expert – Core Banking to join our team in Chennai and contribute to high-impact banking transformation initiatives.

Role Overview The Business Analyst / SME will be responsible for leveraging strong Core Banking domain expertise to understand business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and work closely with product, technology, and business teams to deliver effective banking solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of core banking processes, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand and analyze business requirements related to Core Banking functions and processes.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert on core banking business processes, workflows, and functional requirements.
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
- Translate business requirements into clear and comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), user stories, and process flows.
- Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and implementation teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
- Analyze existing banking processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and digital transformation.




- Provide functional expertise during solution design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
- Participate in requirement workshops, functional discussions, solution walkthroughs, and stakeholder meetings.
- Support the preparation and review of functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define test scenarios and validate functional outcomes.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist in resolving functional issues.
- Provide domain guidance to project and technology teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Identify dependencies, gaps, risks, and potential impacts associated with business requirements.
- Stay updated on evolving banking processes, regulations, industry practices, and technology trends.

Required Skills & Experience
- 7–15 years of overall experience in Business Analysis, Functional Consulting, Banking Product Consulting, or a related role.
- Strong and demonstrable Core Banking domain experience.
- Good understanding of core banking products, processes, and banking operations.
- Experience in requirement gathering, analysis, documentation, and functional specification.




- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear functional requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams comprising Business, Product, Technology, QA, and Implementation teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in preparing BRDs, FRDs/FSDs, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Good understanding of software development and testing life cycles.
- Exposure to banking technology transformation or implementation projects will be an advantage.

Preferred

- Experience working with Core Banking platforms/products.
- Exposure to banking transformation, modernization, or digital banking initiatives.
- Experience in client-facing or consulting environments.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations, microservices, or up-to-date banking technology architecture is an added advantage.
- Experience in working with global banking clients will be an advantage.
