Inviting Applications for Bus Driver in the Transportation Department of NIST University, Berhampur, Odisha

NIST University is looking for responsible, experienced, and safety-conscious Bus Drivers to operate university buses and ensure the safe and timely transportation of students, faculty, staff, and other authorized members of the NIST community.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate university buses safely and responsibly as per assigned routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safe transportation of students, faculty, staff, and authorized passengers.
- Follow all traffic rules, road safety regulations, and institutional transport policies.
- Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip checks of the vehicle, including tyres, brakes, lights, fuel, and other essential components.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
- Report vehicle faults, maintenance requirements, accidents, or other issues promptly to the concerned authority.
- Exercise additional caution while boarding and dropping off students and other passengers.
- Handle unexpected road or vehicle situations calmly and responsibly.
- Cooperate with the Transport/Administration team and follow instructions regarding routes, schedules, and operational requirements.
- Maintain skilled and courteous behavior with students, staff, faculty, and other passengers.

Essential Qualifications

- Minimum 10th Pass or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV)/Transport Driving License as applicable.
- Relevant experience in driving buses or heavy vehicles is preferred.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- Candidates should have a clean and responsible driving record.
