Role Description The Breeder will work full time on-site in Hyderabad, focusing on the development and improvement of crop varieties and seed quality. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting field and laboratory trials, selecting parent lines, performing controlled crossings, and evaluating plants for yield, resistance, and adaptability. The role involves maintaining accurate breeding records, analyzing experimental data, and collaborating with agronomists, quality teams, and production units to ensure successful seed multiplication.

The Breeder will also monitor field performance,



support product development initiatives, and provide technical insights to internal stakeholders and farmers.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in plant breeding, genetics, and crop science, with the ability to design and execute breeding programs.
- Experience in experimental design, field trial management, and data collection for multi-location trials.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and basic statistical methods relevant to breeding and agronomy.
- Knowledge of pest and disease resistance, plant nutrition, and sustainable farming practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Plant Breeding, Genetics, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work on-site in field and lab environments, including seasonal and outdoor conditions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and farming partners.
- Attention to detail, strong record-keeping practices, and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Prior experience in commercial seed companies or crop improvement projects is an advantage.
