Role Description The Bakery and Confectionary Commi 2 is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai at The Shalimar Hotel. This team member supports the bakery kitchen in daily preparation of breads, cookies, pastries, and other baked goods, following established recipes and standards.

Responsibilities include measuring and mixing ingredients, operating baking equipment, assisting in food presentation, and maintaining hygiene and safety protocols. The Commi 2 will help with inventory rotation, basic mise en place, and coordination with senior bakery staff to ensure consistent quality and timely production for hotel outlets and events.



The role involves working in shifts, collaborating with the broader kitchen team, and adhering to hotel policies and culinary guidelines.

Qualifications

- Foundational skills in Bakery and Baking, with the ability to follow recipes and production schedules.
- Practical experience in Food Preparation, focusing on baked goods and desserts.
- Ability to produce and handle Cookies and related confectionary items to quality standards.
- Basic competence in preparing and baking Bread, including dough handling and baking techniques.
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment and follow instructions from senior chefs.
- Prior experience in hotel, restaurant, or commercial bakery operations is preferred.
- Culinary certification or formal training in bakery and confectionary is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
