About The Role We are seeking a talented Python Backend Engineer to join our energetic team. In this role, you will take ownership of developing and maintaining high-throughput backend services that are integral to our platform’s real-time data processing capabilities.

Collaborating closely with front-end developers and C# application teams, you will help design and implement infrastructure that efficiently ingests, processes, and routes vast streams of data across our systems. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about asynchronous Python programming, complex data-flow challenges, and building robust production systems capable of operating reliably under sustained load. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our mission-critical solutions, supporting the cutting-edge technologies we develop for defence and aerospace applications.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess 3-4 years of professional experience in backend software engineering, primarily using Python.



You should have a strong working knowledge of asynchronous programming with asyncio and concurrent execution patterns to handle high-throughput I/O operations.

Experience with API frameworks such as FastAPI, Starlette, aiohttp, or Sanic, along with pydantic for schema validation, is essential. Hands-on experience with message brokers like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS is required, demonstrating your ability to implement event-driven architectures. Proficiency in designing and optimizing relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, and familiarity with time-series databases such as TimescaleDB or InfluxDB, are important.

A solid understanding of networking protocols including TCP/UDP, WebSockets, and HTTP/REST is necessary, along with comfort working on Linux environments and Git-based workflows. Knowledge of testing frameworks like pytest and experience with CI/CD pipelines will be advantageous. A degree in Computer Science, IT, ECE, or a related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include designing and developing backend services capable of handling continuous, high-frequency data streams and telemetry from multiple sources, including raw binary protocols over TCP/UDP. You will build scalable REST and WebSocket APIs using FastAPI, ensuring proper schema validation, error handling, and observability are integrated from the outset.

Implementing and maintaining pub/sub messaging systems will be key to enabling reliable data distribution across microservices. You will model and query relational and time-series databases efficiently,



focusing on optimizing write throughput and reducing query latency for raw events, derived states, and aggregated roll-ups. Collaborating closely with hardware/embedded teams, front-end developers, and C# application teams to define clear data contracts and ensure seamless data flow across system boundaries will be part of your role.

Additionally, you will participate in code reviews, writing well-tested, documented code, and contribute to deployment, monitoring, and operational best practices to ensure system reliability and performance.
