Role: Azure DevOps Engineer – Migration & Modernisation

We are looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in cloud migration, modernisation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD automation . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working across Azure and AWS , with strong preference and depth in Azure.

The role will involve supporting and delivering cloud migration and modernisation initiatives , building automated deployment pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and enabling reliable and scalable DevOps practices across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and manage Azure DevOps solutions supporting cloud migration and modernisation projects.
- Work on Azure and AWS cloud environments , with a strong focus on Azure.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows for application, infrastructure, and data-platform deployments.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform .
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, testing, and operational processes.
- Support end-to-end cloud migration projects , including assessment, migration, deployment, validation, and optimisation.
- Contribute to the modernisation phase of migration programmes , transforming legacy platforms and workloads into modern cloud-native architectures.




- Build and maintain DevOps workflows using Azure DevOps and other CI/CD tools.
- Work closely with development, data, cloud, and architecture teams to implement reliable and repeatable deployment processes.
- Support modernisation of data platforms , including solutions built using Azure Databricks .
- Implement best practices around source control, branching, build and release management, environment management, security, and deployment automation.
- Troubleshoot and optimise CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and cloud deployments.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, deployment efficiency, reliability, and operational processes.
- Stay current with emerging DevOps, cloud, automation, and AI-enabled engineering practices .

Must-Have Skills

- Robust hands-on experience with Azure DevOps .
- Strong experience in Azure cloud services and architecture .
- Good working experience with AWS and understanding of multi-cloud environments.
- Proven experience in cloud migration projects , including migration and modernisation phases.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code .
- Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows .
- Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines and related CI/CD tools.
- Strong scripting/automation capabilities.
- Experience with Azure Databricks , particularly in the context of data-platform modernisation .
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, source control, deployment automation, and release management.
