Primary Skill: Automation testing with playwright*, US healthcare

About the job:

We are seeking an experienced Automation QA Engineer with 7 to 12+ years of experience in API Testing and UI Automation using Playwright. The ideal candidate must have robust expertise in Postman, REST Assured, REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, CI/CD, JIRA, and automation framework development. Mandatory US Healthcare domain experience is required, with the ability to validate healthcare workflows, claims, and integrated applications while ensuring high-quality software delivery in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with product owners and development teams to understand business requirements and acceptance criteria for API-related features.
- Contribute to defining test strategies, including both manual and automated approaches, to effectively validate APIs.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test suites for API and UI testing using Playwright, Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Build automated frameworks to streamline testing, reduce manual overhead, and ensure consistency.
- Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Execute manual and automated tests, analyze results, and identify root causes of defects.




- Track and report defects using bug-tracking tools like JIRA, ensuring defects are assigned to the correct teams and resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide clear and concise test results, metrics, and status updates to stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews of test scripts and mentor team members on best practices for test automation.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure APIs are designed for testability and reliability.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools or processes to improve test coverage, reliability, and speed.

Required Skills:

- 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Test Automation with strong expertise in API and UI automation.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright using JavaScript/TypeScript or Java for end-to-end test automation.
- Strong experience in API automation using Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API Testing, Karate, SoapUI, or similar tools.
- Experience in designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with RESTful/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, web technologies, and API design principles.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
- Healthcare domain experience is preferred.
