Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Management
- Implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and standards across the plant.
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRA, and hazard identification activities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under Factory Act, OSHA guidelines, and local environmental regulations.
- Lead incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Develop and monitor safety KPIs including LTIR, TRIR, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions.
- Conduct periodic safety audits, inspections, and workplace safety assessments.
- Ensure effective implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), and contractor safety management systems.
Environmental Management
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Manage waste disposal systems including hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Monitor emissions, effluent treatment systems, water consumption, and energy conservation initiatives.
- Coordinate environmental audits and ensure timely submission of statutory reports.
- Support sustainability and carbon footprint reduction initiatives.
Occupational Health
- Coordinate employee health surveillance and occupational health programs.
- Monitor workplace ergonomics and industrial hygiene practices.
- Conduct awareness programs on occupational health hazards.
- Ensure availability and usage of appropriate PPE across all departments.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct EHS induction programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Organize safety campaigns, toolbox talks, mock drills, and awareness sessions.
- Develop training materials related to safety and environmental compliance.
- Build employee engagement in safety culture initiatives.
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Conduct fire safety inspections and mock emergency drills.
- Coordinate with emergency response teams and local authorities.
- Ensure readiness of firefighting equipment and emergency systems.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain EHS documentation, records, SOPs, and compliance registers.
- Coordinate internal and external audits related to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Prepare monthly EHS reports and presentations for management review.
- Ensure timely closure of audit findings and corrective actions.
? Experience Requirement
- 8 - 15 years of experience in EHS role, preferably in automotive/manufacturing industry
- Experience in handling plant-level safety operations, audits, and compliance
- Exposure to multi-location or large-scale manufacturing setups is an advantage
