Job Overview:

The Department of English at Lingaya s Vidyapeeth invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor . The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering undergraduate and graduate-level courses in English literature, language, and linguistics. Key Responsibilities:

- Teaching:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in English literature, language, and linguistics.
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum, syllabi, and lesson plans for courses in line with departmental goals.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects.
- Organize and conduct seminars, workshops, and other academic events.

- Research and Publication:

- Engage in scholarly research in the field of English literature, linguistics, or related areas.
- Publish research findings in academic journals, books, or other reputable platforms.
- Contribute to departmental research initiatives and collaborate with other faculty members on interdisciplinary research.

- Service to the Department and University:

- Participate in departmental meetings, committees,



and faculty development activities.
- Contribute to the development of new academic programs, initiatives, and courses.
- Participate in university outreach and community engagement efforts.
- Attend academic conferences and represent the university in academic forums.

Qualifications:

- Education:
- A Masters degree in English or a closely related field is required. A Ph.D. in English Literature, Linguistics, or a relevant area is highly preferred.
- Additional certifications in teaching and research methodologies are a plus.

- Experience:

- A minimum of 4-5 years of teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Proven track record of scholarly research, publications, and conference presentation.

- Skills and Competencies:

- Solid knowledge of English literature, language, and linguistics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and university administration.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the academic environment.
- Proficiency in using academic technology tools, including learning management systems (LMS) and research software.
