ROLE SUMMARY The Assistant Manager – Purchase will own plastic waste (excluding PET waste) procurement on a pan-India basis,
working out of our Noida head office with extensive field travel across the country. This role covers identifying,
negotiating with, and onboarding aggregators, recyclers, and waste suppliers, in full alignment with Extended Producer
Responsibility (EPR) guidelines and our compliance framework. It sits at the intersection of procurement, field relationship-building, and regulatory rigor, and reports directly to the CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and manage a pan-India network of plastic waste (excluding PET waste) raw material suppliers and
aggregators, prioritizing states/regions based on business need.
- Design and execute purchase strategies that ensure continuous, compliant, and cost-effective sourcing of plastic
waste (excluding PET waste) for empaneled recyclers nationwide.
- Conduct vendor due diligence, rate negotiations, and onboarding — with complete and audit-ready documentation.
- Partner closely with the compliance team to ensure all procured waste meets CPCB reporting requirements.
- Forecast procurement volumes against market conditions, seasonal variation, and internal channelization plans.
- Track and analyze regional price trends and vendor performance to inform sourcing and negotiation strategy.
- Resolve issues related to quality, logistics, documentation, or vendor discrepancies quickly and independently.
- Undertake extensive, recurring field travel across Indian states to develop vendors, audit sites, and strengthen
relationships.
- Maintain accurate MIS and provide regular procurement updates and reporting directly to the CEO.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with logistics, finance, and compliance to keep procurement running without
friction.
- Source and manage waste streams beyond PET (non-PET plastic categories) in addition to standard plastic waste,
and proactively identify and develop new avenues and opportunities for the company to trade.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or channelization — preferably in plastic waste
(excluding PET waste), recycling, or sustainability.
- Strong working knowledge of EPR regulations and the plastic waste (excluding PET waste) recycling value chain.
- Excellent negotiation, documentation, and vendor relationship management skills.
- Fluent in English and Hindi; proficiency in an additional regional Indian language is a strong advantage given the
pan-India scope.
- Proficient in MS Excel, documentation tools, and procurement tracking systems.
- Willingness and readiness to travel extensively (60–75% of time) across India at short notice.
PREFERRED TO HAVE
- Prior experience building or scaling a procurement network across multiple Indian states.
- Existing relationships with plastic waste (excluding PET waste) aggregators, recyclers, or PROs.
- Exposure to CPCB reporting systems and EPR compliance platforms.

- A purpose-driven role with direct, visible impact on India's circular economy.
- Direct reporting line to the CEO and high visibility across the organization.
- Exposure to large-scale plastic waste (excluding PET waste) supply chains and compliance ecosystems across
diverse Indian markets.
