ASSISTANT MANAGER – HOUSEKEEPING

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Assistant Manager – Housekeeping to manage and supervise day-to-day housekeeping operations in a hospital workplace. The role is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, infection-control practices, staff discipline, and overall housekeeping service quality across the hospital.

Job Role & Responsibilities :

- Manage and supervise day-to-day housekeeping operations across the hospital.
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and proper upkeep of wards, patient rooms, ICU, OT, OPD, corridors, washrooms, and common areas.
- Supervise housekeeping staff, supervisors, and outsourced housekeeping personnel.
- Prepare duty rosters, allocate work, and monitor staff attendance and performance.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure housekeeping standards are consistently maintained.
- Ensure proper implementation of housekeeping SOPs and infection-control practices.
- Coordinate with the Infection Control, Nursing, Administration, Engineering, Security, and other departments.
- Monitor the availability and usage of cleaning chemicals, consumables, equipment, and other housekeeping materials.
- Maintain housekeeping inventory and coordinate with Stores/Purchase for timely replenishment.
- Handle housekeeping complaints and ensure timely corrective action.




- Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, hygiene, safety, PPE, chemical handling, and infection-control practices.
- Ensure proper waste segregation, collection, and disposal as per hospital procedures.
- Monitor staff grooming, discipline, punctuality, and adherence to hospital policies.
- Prepare and maintain housekeeping checklists, inspection reports, attendance records, and other required documentation.
- Support hospital audits, inspections, and quality-accreditation requirements such as NABH.
- Ensure safe working practices and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
- Manage housekeeping requirements during emergencies, VIP visits, special events, and hospital inspections.

Qualification:

- Any Graduate – UG / PG from a recognized institution.
- Hotel Management / Hospitality Management graduates are also eligible.
- Candidates with qualifications in Hospital Administration / Facility Management may also be considered.

Experience:

- Min 5 years of relevant experience in housekeeping, facility management, hospitality, or healthcare.
- Candidates with hospital housekeeping experience will be preferred.
