As Assistant
Manager - Customer Support at the Chennai Parts Distribution Center (CPDC), you will lead the Customer Support team, coordinate with customers and cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure orders are executed accurately and on time. You will also drive monthly parts sales in line with the sales and operations plan, minimize commercial and delivery risks, and continuously improve customer support processes.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Ensure compliance with Emerson ethics, trade compliance, business unit, safety, quality, and CPDC process requirements.
- Lead the Customer Support team by setting clear performance metrics, reviewing progress, coaching team members, and driving accountability for results.
- Manage customer orders across all assigned regions and guide team members in effectively handling their allocated regions.
- Review customer purchase orders and ensure sales orders accurately reflect agreed commercial terms, documentation, and delivery requirements; promptly report and resolve exceptions.
- Coordinate with Sales, Application Engineering, Order Administration, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Logistics, and customers to ensure smooth and timely order execution.
- Submit required documents for approval, secure timely approvals, and coordinate dispatch and shipment in accordance with customer purchase order terms.
- Drive monthly CPDC parts shipments and sales in line with the sales and operations plan.
- Proactively monitor order risks and work with relevant stakeholders to maintain zero liquidated damages exposure for orders managed by the CPDC Customer Support team.
- Conduct periodic order and performance review meetings and provide clear, timely updates to all stakeholders.
- Support collection of advance payments, overdue accounts receivable clearance, customer dispatch clearance, and other commercial actions needed for order execution.
- Monitor finished-goods inventory aging and work with customers and internal teams to enable timely dispatch.
- Capture lessons learned from order execution, share best practices with the team, and implement process improvements and cost-saving ideas.
Plan resources for current and future workload based on the sales plan.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- A degree or equivalent qualification, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in customer support, order management, or a related function.
- Demonstrated experience managing customers and end-to-end order execution.
- Prior people-management or team-coordination experience, including the ability to manage at least one team member.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience using enterprise resource planning systems and other department-specific digital tools.
- Good interpersonal, stakeholder-management, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi to effectively support customers across North, East, West, and Central India.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, conduct structured reviews, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Working knowledge of Parts Distribution Center processes and customer order workflows is preferred.
- Experience in the valve industry or an industrial products environment.
- Knowledge of Flow Controls products and product lines.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to build lasting relationships and resolve concerns constructively.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to identify practical process improvements.
- A collaborative style that treats team members and stakeholders with respect.
- Demonstrated integrity, perseverance, drive for results,
