We are a growing startup looking for a hands-on Accounts & Finance professional at the middle-management level, with strong potential to grow into a leadership role as the team scales. This is an individual-contributor role to start, with a team to be built under this person over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the complete accounting function, including General Ledger, bookkeeping, financial records, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, MIS, management reports, and audit-ready documentation.
- Manage cash flow, banking operations, fund planning, reconciliations, and treasury activities.
- Handle domestic and export accounting, including export invoices, shipping documentation, customs documentation, foreign exchange transactions, Letters of Credit (LCs), export advances, and realization of export proceeds.
- Monitor receivables, payables, vendor payments, customer collections, and working capital.
- Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS, FEMA, RBI, and other applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities.
- Support budgeting, financial planning, cost analysis, profitability reporting, and business decision-making.
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, exports, commercial,
and management teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Maintain accurate digital financial records and ensure robust internal controls.
- Independently execute day-to-day accounting activities while continuously improving systems and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- 510 years in accounts/finance, ideally with exposure to exports and treasury
- Comfortable working independently and wearing multiple hats startup mindset
- Strong subject-matter command; able to interact confidently and clearly with CEO/MD-level stakeholders
- Growth-oriented, willing to take on expanding scope
- CA/CMA/MBA Finance preferred but not mandatory if experience is strongBachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Experience in handling Letters of Credit (LCs), export financing, FEMA/RBI compliance, and forex management will be highly preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of Tally, QuickBooks, MS Excel, and accounting systems.
- Strong analytical ability, commercial acumen, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- A self-driven qualified with an ownership mindset who is willing to lead by example and work hands-on in a fast-growing organization.
