Position Overview The Assistant Manager - Accounts will support the Accounts and Finance department in managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial records, statutory compliance, banking activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, financial documentation, and accounting software.
The candidate will work closely with senior management, internal departments, vendors, customers, banks, auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, financial records, vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Prepare and process purchase, sales, payment, receipt, and journal entries.
- Perform bank, customer, vendor, and ledger reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Monitor outstanding payments and coordinate with relevant departments for timely collections and payments.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the preparation of Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, cash flow statements, and other MIS reports.
- Assist in GST-related activities,
including invoice verification, reconciliation, return preparation, and documentation.
- Support statutory compliance related to TDS, GST, income tax, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, and other external stakeholders as required.
- Maintain proper records and documentation for audits and statutory requirements.
- Monitor petty cash and ensure proper accounting and documentation of expenses.
- Assist in budgeting, expense monitoring, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Identify discrepancies in financial records and take appropriate action for resolution.
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding invoices, payments, expenses, purchase orders, and other financial matters.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information and company records.
- Perform any other accounting or finance-related responsibilities assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in accounts and finance operations.
Experience 3-6 years of relevant experience in Accounts and Finance. Experience in the manufacturing industry will be preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Good understanding of GST, TDS, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
- Experience in bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valuable organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
