Job Overview
SSPYV is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and qualified Art and Craft Teacher to inspire students and develop their artistic abilities, imagination, and creativity. The ideal candidate should have sound knowledge of various art and craft techniques, strong practical skills, and the ability to engage students through age-appropriate and activity-based learning.
The teacher will be responsible for developing students' skills in drawing, colouring, painting, craftwork, design, and creative expression, while encouraging originality, confidence, patience, and an appreciation for art.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Art and Craft to students in accordance with the school's curriculum and academic standards.
- Plan and conduct engaging, age-appropriate, and activity-based art and craft lessons.
- Develop students' skills in drawing, sketching, colouring, painting, paper craft, clay work, collage, model making, and other creative activities.
- Introduce students to different art forms, techniques, materials, and styles appropriate to their age and ability levels.
- Encourage students to express their ideas, imagination, emotions, and creativity through art.
- Prepare lesson plans, art activities, projects, displays, and other appropriate learning resources.
- Identify and encourage students with artistic talent and provide appropriate guidance to further develop their abilities.
- Guide and prepare students for art competitions, exhibitions, school programmes, celebrations, and special events.
- Assist in preparing stage decorations, display boards, classroom displays, exhibition materials, and artwork for school events and functions.
- Encourage students to use recycled, eco-friendly, and locally available materials creatively wherever appropriate.
- Teach students the proper and safe use of art materials, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, inclusive, and creative classroom environment.
- Ensure proper organisation, storage, and maintenance of art supplies, materials, tools, and students' artwork.
- Assess and monitor students' participation, creativity, skill development, and progress.
- Encourage teamwork, patience, concentration, fine motor skills, and aesthetic appreciation through art and craft activities.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and coordinators to integrate art into school activities and interdisciplinary learning wherever appropriate.
- Participate actively in school assemblies, exhibitions, competitions, celebrations, meetings, training programmes, and other school activities.
- Support the overall discipline, safety, well-being, creativity, and holistic development of students.
- Uphold the values, policies, culture, and educational vision of SSPYV at all times.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or a relevant discipline.
- A recognised teacher-training qualification or B.Ed. will be an advantage.
- Previous experience teaching Art and Craft to school-going children is preferred.
- Experience in preparing students for art competitions, exhibitions, and school events will be an advantage.
Job Type: Full time Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
